communications programs

just wanted some opinions on the best communications programs to run with cf as far as hurting the games performace and quality such as lag etc. etc..i have a custom built gaming cpu so ram or fps isnt an issue..just wondering if one program is better than the other or what is most widely used..thx

i used to recommend mumble but the devs are lazy/incompetent

ts3 offers almost as high voice quality (you probably won't ever notice the difference) and has a much better client/server overall

vent/ts3/mumble won't hurt your game performance significantly unless your computer is absolute crap so i wouldn't worry about it

ok so theres 3 diff programs..which is most widely used? lols i know cf is partnered with xfire so then i guess it would boil down to quality?

Out of all of them I still think mumble is the best

TS3...then vent (vent is the worst of the bunch imo)

mumble best quality
ts3 very VERY close. you just can't set the latency down to 10ms. 20 lowest
vent is basically garbage. the quality is okay but the latency is just insane. you'll find it very hard to talk on vent after having used a mumble/ts3 server that has been set up properly

ts3 has way more features overall than mumble/vent

is winner

(and this is coming from an ex-diehard mumble supporter :P)

(haven't used raidcall for years and i assume it's still garbage)

Ventrilo is simple and easy to use will not hurt performance even for lowlevel pc's(Single core2GHZ+/1GBRAM/XP)

TS3 will hurt performance for not that great pc's with low RAM and such
But TS3 has allot of features to make it work for you your way.

Mumble I find it crap

Nah sometimes the Mumble overlay has problems with CF. TS3 and vent are technically more reliable.

I wish more people knew about mumble...people don't have to go the lengths to set up a private voice server like they do with the other services.

And I like how C3 has the ability to call real phones...THAT is fricking awesome. Nice way to get in touch with someone who may be on their way back home when you need him in a match or to get him a ticket for driving with a cellphone... :P

Mumble sux.I was using it for like 1 whole month and i was disapointed in it.
Ts3 is way better easy to use and cheap if you want to have your own server.
Ventrilo is decent and its on my second place(ts3 is on the first)
You can easly setup the music vent,easy to use the administration tools and making accounts (if you want to make your ventrilo private).
