Nerf Xeno (Just a bit)
in Suggestions
Just a thought.
That big purple gay alien is too powerful. He knows where you are. He takes out a full health hero with 2 easily landed left click zaps that have really long range, while taking 2 or 3 right click attacks from the hero when at full health. Not sure how much damage the hero's right click does but I've definitely landed 2 of them on Xeno without him dying.
Plus he spawns at the beginning so he's got all his mutant homies to help him out. Whereas the hero has to deal with all the mutants by himself (usually)
I merely suggest slightly weakening his 'zap' so it takes maybe 3 hits to kill a full health hero.
Thoughts?

A single hero alone doesn't have much chance of winning to begin with.
However, a decent hero can wipe out the mutant force easily just on his own. the xeno is to balance that. Since they need to maneuver and still stay alive while eliminating the forces.
The hero's slash does 1000 and 3000 for the power strike. This isn't including headshots. (which usually ends a Xeno if he's hit with a power headshot).
The xeno does the same amount of damage with its attacks to the hero.
It's to encourage cooperation, especially between heros or soldiers to take out the xeno as early as possible. -
^ suuuure you do... Everytime without fail no matter the circumstances. Yep, everyone's perfect when thy're on the forums...
But yeah, I get that Xeno balances it for the rest of the mutants and I have taken out 10 or more mutants including Xeno in a round several times. But you need to be well set up in a hard to get to place or be lucky enough that only a few mutants at a time find you. Letting you take out a few then run to a defensible position. Also Xeno can run away and heal while you deal with the rest of the mutants. When he comes back with 10k hp and you're already weakened from taking out 10 other mutants, you're basically screwed. Maybe if the hero could heal too it would be balanced.
I dunno, I don't really expect them to change it. I'm just saying when I spawn as Xeno it's definitely over for the soldiers, when I get to be Hero it's still up in the air who will win.
Xeno annihilates no matter what, the Hero needs the right conditions. You can claim to be uber pro as the hero but I'd like to see you take out all 10, 11, 12, 13 mutants plus Xeno while you're completely surrounded by all of them. Eventually you are just stuck between mutants on all sides and all the right clicks in the world can't save you. -
That's where the cooperation comes in. As noted, a single hero won't likely defeat the Xeno unless they are skilled or it was weakened prior by soldier fire.
The hero has time on his side though, if the xeno stalls for healing, the more likely the hero is to win by default time as he will also get more room to breathe.
Plus, the Hero's attacks are quicker, especially the powerful slashes.
Keep in mind that there can be up to 3 hero's means with the right set, the soldiers could easily annihilate the mutants.
Think of it as a fancier knife fight. Know your ranges and speed. -

Yeah I'm probably just playing in to many pub rooms with selfish 300 pingers that try to hide so they can be hero, get top score and then die. Rather then actually camping with their guns, trying to win and using the hero as a last resort. I've probably won more rounds with 4 or 5 soldiers holding them off then I have with some doosh failing with the hero by himself.
Also, people don't seem to be able to shoot. ie: the mansion. If you have 3 or more guys in there you can kill wave after wave of muties easily. But I find often as soon as I have to reload we all get mutated despite having 4 other guys there spraying bullets everywhere but at the mutants faces.
BTW: the M16A3 LMG is awesome for killing mutants. I can spray a whole clip with that thing without letting go of the trigger and still land most of the shots in the mutants faces. It has a very focusable spray pattern.
Talon, you still playing HMX on the regular or what? I'd like to play with some people who can actually shoot and cooperate. -
I think the kick vote is good but the ratio should be upped a bit. 12 votes maybe for a kick rather then 10. It's different. You have 15 other people against you when you're pwning rather then 8 if it's a Max. players room.IKillzUSucka wrote: »agreed.. Other than that the modes fine ( EXCEPT THE NEW KICK FEATURE...)
*edit: Though it never fails when I'm pwning, I get kicked, but when there's a crouch speeder running around as hero it doesn't pass...go figure. -

I'm fairly sure this is another one of those scenarios that you don't know what you're talking about.
I could be wrong, I don't think I am though. -

Likely so. Mansion has many good defense spots for soldiers to fend off easily in groups. Its hard to get coordination in pubs, so its no surprise. But there's often times where you do get some teamwork and alot of the time the soldiers are hardly touched until ammo becomes an issue.
I prefer the M60 myself, I like its control and stopping power in addition to its damage. Even with the normal gun, I can hold off quite well. Add in the Mag and I can usually last until Hero is needed.
And yeah, I still play, its a fun mode. Just since my comp issues my playtime has been reduced significantly. -
' wrote:dvda[;2874274']Well, care to contribute? About what is Talon wrong? Specifically...
I don't know the exact numbers and I'm not 100% sure.
I don't think the right click from a commando will kill the xeno in 1 hit, also I'm fairly sure the xeno does more damage than the commandos. -

Provided you don't have the guy who makes it his life's goal to shoot out every window in the joint...
Then yeah, there's lots of places to hold out. If there is that guy, there's like, one spot. lol[MOD]Talonblaze wrote: »I prefer the M60 myself, I like its control and stopping power in addition to its damage. I find a lot of people saying they love the m60. I find the recoil gives me trouble and I can't focus it consistently enough to hold the muties back. One always manages to get through. I'm sure I just need more practice with it.[MOD]Talonblaze wrote: »And yeah, I still play, its a fun mode. Just since my comp issues my playtime has been reduced significantly.

Oh, my apologies for not waiting for your glorious bible to be updated. How blasphemous of me!

Damage done from the commando/xeno is probably never going in my guide.
Shouldn't guesstimate unless you say something like "I'm not sure, but..."
9, infract him for trolling since that seems to be your bread and butter. -

Maybe if you make the headshot with the right click it will take out a full health Xeno. But yeah, I've definitely landed 2 right clicks on a Xeno without him dying. However in game you don't know how much HP other players have. Or if you landed an HS unless he dies from it.
Also, with all the laggers it could just be one of the hits was fully tanked. I'd be willing to test this if we can get 8 or more ppl together who are willing to sit there and let the hero manhandle them and report dmg's. xp
What I do know is that 2 left clicks(easier attack) from Xeno will take out a full health hero. First one takes him down to 2000 hp I think.... I could be wrong about the damage amount but one hit definitely does more then half damage.
Also, a fully 'evolved' slug mutant with full health can be more trouble then Xeno. I was playing a match yesterday and I got the hero, took out like 5 or 6 mutants and when I died I saw I'd damaged the slug that killed me for 12k HP w/out killing it. He may have healed at some point and came back for more I dunno. What's the max health for a Titan Slug mutant? -

I think the max hp is 10k, but he could have absorbed a mutant and regained some hp or something. -

I could be, but I'm fairly certain I've taken out a fresh hero as Xeno with 2 left clicks. Like, I saw him transform and hit him twice and he died with no other mutants around to soften him up for me. -

Last time I recalled, disagreeing wasn't trolling.
Take this for example;GodsGunman wrote: »I'm fairly sure this is another one of those scenarios that you don't know what you're talking about.

You may have disagreed there, but at the same time you're contemptuous remark leads one to wonder why would have you even posted such a negative remark without even driving it home with the "actual" and "perfect" stats that GodsGunman has been known to give?
You had to wait for ANOTHER forumer to call you out on that and THEN you post your "findings".
I guess all in all, just adding a hint of grace to your disagreements can go a long way to your posts. -
GoPancakes wrote: »I believe that the commando's left attack does 1500 damage, not 1000.
I'm pretty sure that the right click attack IS, as talon said, 3000 damage.
I guess really the only way to figure that out is to do a test room with 7 other people and figure it out.
I doubt there'd be 6 others willing to sit around, be mutated, then watch the commando do test slashes and stabs.
Same thing with Xeno on Commando.
Same thing with different mutants and mutant evolutions on Commando. -

The Xeno will kill the hero with a right click to the head, but the Commando can easily kill the Xeno if he begins attacking first.
I can easily clutch 1 vs. whatever fine as Hero, you just need to know tactics. Comandos aren't supposed to be gun ho LEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNKIIIIIIIIINSSSSSSSSS, they're supposed to wait. The point is to stay alive

I realize I might not even need to play HMX anymore to get my M4-CC
So happy now
