Will overlay be seen as a hack?

Well with the new updates recently i cant Alt+Tab from CF in game. So i went and got a TS3 notifier that should tell me when ppl sign in/out of TS, and tell me chat in game if they try to type to me.

So I'm wondering if CF will find this as a hack, I don't wanna sign in and have it auto ban me lol. So I'm wondering if anyone else have tried this.

    XTrap detects the TS3 overlay as a "bad program". If you try to start 3 times using the overlay, you will get a ban I think ;)

    TS3 itself? I've been running TS3 for over 2 years lol. Well TS2 at first. What I'm talking about is a Plug in for TS3 that i guess you could say it acts like Fraps does. For instance if someone joins my channel it will say up top "Yada Yada has joined your channel".

    I just read on the TS3 forums that Punk buster was finding it as a hack so i wanted to know if CF will do the same thing. I really don't wanna lose my Honor ribbon over something as stupid as TS3. :)

    We'll have to investigate this one. Teamspeak in any forms shouldn't be causing any problems with xtrap.

    When you say "you got a ts notifier" does this mean you got a mod for Teamspeak? A third party program like that may get picked up by xtrap.

    Yes its a Plugin made by people that use TS3. That is why I'm not sure if it will "detect" it. I haven't singed in all day cause I really don't wanna get an auto ban :D

    Also I was wondering is there some sort of "warning" before the first auto ban. Like will i just get a "hack tool detected" error but not get banned the first time. So i can test it.

    Edit: Also i did get it from TS3.com and it is an approved plugin, not just from some random site.

    Sorry for my mistake. I added the word "overlay" in my first post.

    I tried the overlay once and got the xtrap warning. I would do it again to take a screenshot but I don't know if the counter I mentioned in the first post will be resetted or not after some time. So I choose the save way ;)

    I don't blame you, I'm tring to wait for a reply from the GM. If he doesn't know then maybe I'll make an alt and try, at least then only the acct gets banned xD (I think)

    Maybe I should give you some more information before something bad happens. You will see the xtrap warning while starting crossfire BEFORE login. The thing about the 3 tries is a rumor that many people spread. I don't know if it is true or not. However IF it is true then the only kind of ban xtrap could issue would be an IP ban. I wouldn't test it if I were you ;)

    Btw I recently noticed that the program "process explorer" is blocked by xtrap. Is it meant to be like that? I use this program to oberserve my gameserver and it is pretty useful in my eyes.

    Ahh now i get what you mean I've seen one of those errors before :p I thought IP bans only came from reports all Xtrap bans were just the acct. Unless you try to hack 3 times then Xtrap bans your IP.

    At least that is what I thought but I really wouldn't know I've never had the urge to hack if CF :D
