  • If there is one thing that I've learned in the 6 or so years that I've been moderating for free FPS games, it's that free games will ALWAYS have some percentage of hackers. The day a new hack gets detected, the hack gets recoded within a day or so, which renders the detection useless.

congratulations, you've just recapped what every right minded person has been saying for years
  • It was far worse when I was a War Rock mod a few years back. The game just got completely ruined by hacks. And the worst....OPK (one position kill). The hacker would see all of the players standing in one spot, regardless of where they were on the map. All he had to do was throw one grenade to kill the entire team.

I saw that in a combat arms hack, I thought the hacker was actually making people fly through the air lol, I guess only he saw them do that though.
  • Another one from WR was rapid fire grenades. It was actually sort of funny to watch it in action.

What about stopping the distribution of the cheats/hacks?
Can the MMO industry legally go after the websites that sell them, and track down coders like the police arrest virus writers?

Things are slow to change in business. G4Box has little power over the game, and I'm sure smilegate is more concerned with what the asian versions than this version. CF CN has next to no hackers and I'm fairly sure that CF Korea is the same, so unless they're really interested on what goes on here (unlikely), they probably don't understand how bad it's gotten.

G4Box was probably able to convince smilegate/neowiz about CF LA because it would directly provide extra income. Getting rid of hackers could provide extra income, but it would be indirect, meaning they're less likely to try it.

The trouble lies with convincing smilegate to do this, but since they're across the world and have their own problems with their game, chances are we're less likely to get anything.

Please note that I wasn't told any of this directly by a G4Box staff, this is simply what I've picked up over the past year or so on the forums.

I heard CFNA requires QQ account to register and play the game. If you get banned you can't register new account.
QQ is like ICQ, a very popular social media.

I heard that there are about 1k report sent to z8 each day. My suggestions would make the review more efficient.

    a. If reporters' correctness can be reflected by his reporting history.
    b. Software scanner to precheck the replay.

500 reports on a weekend was the figure I heard.

I would say 1k reports might be too high per day. I report more often than most people, and I report average less than 1 per day.

    Short answer: no.

Webhosts will shut down websites for breaking their terms of service, but apparently only 'real' hacking tools (port scanners, loic, etc) are disallowed. I've contacted the hosts for several hacksites over the years and most of them don't consider a hack for a multiplayer game to be against their terms. From a legal standpoint game hackers are not committing a crime. While it is against Z8's terms of use, it is not against the law.

I've heard that it's against the law in china, wish that was true here D:

We have that in crossfire, its known as remote kill very rare to bump into one (causes alot of client errors anyway)

I am trying to save them.

If vote kick can works better, hacker will get kicked very quickly.

Number of vote can be started can be related to the score of hacker report.

When staff are lazy to review, they can choose the reporter with positive score first, just sort the report by reporter score.

I suppose they will provide very precise information: hacker name, round, time, what kind of hack.
Yes and if the "kicker" kicks you for no reasonable reasons then that person could be reported thereby getting his/her honor points down!!
    Nice idea!
