What's up with my audio?
I'm excited to be rejoining the CrossFire world again, but I have a pretty severe problem.
My sound, whenever on, doesn't work properly - it causes major lag, and sounds like I'm trying to play in a football stadium with the echo.
Any way to fix this issue?
I have performed clean installs, I have run Crossfire.exe by itself without and with Steam up (same issue, both times), I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice. What do?

Check to make sure that the wire isn't ripped or something and check the sound settings. -
Positive - I never mess with that stuff because it makes me a little crazy after a few minutes of dealing with it.
so this problem only with cf? do u hear that echo somewhere else?
if u hear it while doing other tasks then some1 did what i said in the prev replay
if it's only cf try replacing ur sound files http://modhub.org/soundmods/138-default-crossfire-sounds -

No progress whatsoever to be spoken of.
Does anyone know if there's any known programs/processes that interfere with Crossfire like that? Perhaps it's the change from Aero to Basic theme on Vista...? -
Not sure if this will help but worth a try.
* Open regedit
* Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
* There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
* Reboot
