Just played my first HMX mode and I went 37-1. Secret to success? The SL8 was a boss. I got so many HS and 1 shot does crazy damage. It's fast ROF and high ammo capacity was very effective. I've totally changed my opinion on the SL8. Excellent anti-mutant sniper.

Head shot: 500ish
Mid section: 200-300ish
Leg/Arm: 100+ish

Thats the best estimation I can give. The thing that got me excited is when I had 7-9 shots across the map and killed 2 "lower mutants". Both HS. It's really good on top of the bridge in Zone 13 (for example), but in close is not good at all.

I'm curious as to how the DSR would do in HMX as it has higher damage than the sl8, doesnt it?

Well AWM is pretty decent, don't know about Sl8 tho...
snipers are like beast on HMX i guess.

i was using the DSR-1 D.C. on HMX
headshot - 1k+ dmg
chest - 400-600 dmg

i think awm is like 1k dmg on Head (just like you guys said about DSR) plus the HMX damage boost its really beast.

Indeed. Yes DSR is more powerful than SL8 but it is slower ..

urmm, since i can kill a mutant in 1 clip using an AR (HMX) or at the very least leave them on low enough hp to knife i dint think this is sutch a decent discovery.

HMX top tip - rember to count the kills you get from mutants, the tier 1 mutants only have 3k hp... so its easy to soften them up with an AR then go for the kinfe.

i find ak knife is the best, blast them with 35 bullets and then shank them so they won't respawn

Let's be sincer, the DSR is the slowest sniper of CF. Better have some buddies with MG's or you won't get far with it on HM(X).

Exactly. Although it doesnt have the power of the DSR (and I do believe it does more dmg than what I first mentioned) it can fire bullets faster and has 20/20 ammo which means you don't need to reload that often.

And about my 37-1 comment, it was my first HMX game and I now realise it wasn't that good. I've managed a 95-3 with the SL8 and I'm still quite new to the mode.

SL8 has more faster than the DSR when it comes in fire rate.and it has huge amount of bullets/magazine 20 to be exact
