Nothing too pricey as this will be my first car. No convertibles because it's not my type. Prius has crossed my mind with gas price being a bytch in the ass. Stick or auto? Do I need a GPS installed? Leave suggestions in comments bruh.
Either way, going with a new car is the way to go nowadays. Less to worry about later on if you take care of it. As for being manual or automatic, go auto. In cars today there is only about a 1 mpg difference between the two. I would say 99% of cars today have on-star(GPS) installed already, and are given a 6-12 month trial. Anything else just ask.
P.S. don't get a sports car if you don't want to fill up every 4-7 days. -
i'm selling a 2010 toyota matrix, for 13750 oBo, it has 70k, well taken care of, it has sport trim interior with bucket seats, i'm willing to drive within 300 miles to sell it, reliable car, i get around 35 MPG highway and it is also a fun car to drive.
edit: here some pics

Im trying to get a new car.
Dont recommend cars over 50k, 50k is my budget. This is not my first car, it is my first new car. Ive been driving a sonata as I lived in virginia for the time being.tastylime66g wrote: »These suggestions are killing me. Tayeon with an Audi R8, lol. Tayeon with a GTR, lol. Do you notice how you never actually see these cars on the street? And when you do, it isn't some 18 year old gamer driving it? Laughable suggestions. He'll be driving a busted up 1996 Civic at best. He doesn't have 50k for a car, let's be serious. Besides, you can't even buy an R8 for 50k and even if you could, the repairs and insurance would exceed anything that this kid could afford.
Reality check, nobody drives 50k cars at this kids age other then some very rare exceptions. He obviously isn't one of those exceptions. Audi R8's lol, professional people who make big salaries can hardly afford to finance them, let alone some kid who plays Crossfire all day that works a part-time job.
/thread.
If I really bothered to troll I would post a higher budget. I am not paying the 50k, my parents are. I haven't touched CF for a while. 50k cars are quite affordable unless if you're paying a full 50k right away. -

I have never touched my GPS in my life lol, all I ever do is go to school with my prius since nothing really goes on in VA. I don't know much about cars so I just came to the forum for some suggestions but people are just throwing out of reach suggestions like bugatti and r8. Any really good sedans that you reccommend then? -

I'll be waiting for the picture and videos (just don't try to fake them.. again) you provide when you buy this fairly new BMW M5 since you have a 50k budget for your first vehicle.
Haha bro it was only one time. Thats a used car though, I already have a used sonata and prius and the thoughts of a used car really bothers me. What other car? Ill be getting a car july and will post a test drive vid if you're around. -

Go outside.
I live with my stepdad and stepmom atm, my dad works in hong kong and he is the one buying me a car. 50k is not a big deal of a car for him since Ive worked hard the past 5 years. Call me stupid but Ive been accepted to prestegious schools and proved my intelligence through my SAT score. -
My dad is an actuary, he makes quite a good amount of money and has a stable job. My mother owns a lubricant company and construction laminate company in seoul korea and guangzhou china. In fact my mom just got a new lexus rx470 for helping the asian olympics 2 years ago. My grandparents own a company in HK called hopewell plastic.tastylime66g wrote: »Alright, with your fifty-thousand dollars for your first car (lol) you can easily buy a new 3 or 5 series BMW or an M5. Then again, I don't know why I am giving you advice, you will never have 50k to spend on a car. Tell me what your parents do.tastylime66g wrote: »Your intelligence based on your SAT score have basically proven to me that,

my financial intelligence is low, I admit because I am still in my first year of post secondary. I am no genius so I am not born with financial intelligence. I am going to follow my father's footsteps and be an actuary. -

Either a ford focus or honda accord. Although I'm not a big fan of hondas they do make fairly affordable and reliable cars(again, if you take care of it). With the GPS, On-star will give you everything from turn-by-turn navigation, to emergency aid, and everything in between. It's as easy as talking to someone. -

If your budget is actually 50k, cut it in half. Don't buy a new car, buy something 2-3 years uses. Used cars aren't bad and they are a smarter investment, and they won't depreciate in value as much when you buy it.
Well he's right in a sense, common sense is hard to find nowadays.
On the matter of a used car, mileage is a huge thing. You don't know how it was driven? City or highway miles? If it still has any warranty left? Things like that. I bought my car with 11 miles on it because I wanted to be sure no one had torn anything up. -
tastylime66g wrote: »Then you buy a cheap tomtom GPS and be done with it. Not ****ing Onstar, what a joke. Dumb North Americans.
Hum, lemme think? FREE On-Star for 6 months, or a $100 tomtom that gives **** routes and probably won't use after a year. -

Your parents aren't wealthy by any means. You're still a student. How will you manage to own a 50k car? Makes no sense. Have any of your friends bought new BMW M5's or Audi's? No. Do you know how much it costs to repair and insure a car of a similar caliber, especially at your age? That's what I mean. You may have scored high on your SAT, but you have barely any life knowledge.

Used cars aren't bad and they are a smarter investment, and they won't depreciate in value as much when you buy it. My Mercedes CLS 500 is bought used, I wouldn't have been able to afford a new one as the base price is something over 100k, but it had barely any miles on it and I didn't break the bank and it's just as good as a new one (even better actually, with the money I had saved vs buying a new one, I slightly modified it and fitted an LPG system in it)
both my parents make 6 digits, and with payment plans it is not that hard to afford a 50k budget. Ive also said earlier that I am not trying to spend all 50k. If I do cut my budget what car do you reccommend? V6 engine prefferred, Im trying to treat my car well and regular gas will hurt v8 ive heard. As in investments, I've been given 5k on my 18th bday to try stock, but I've only spent around 1grand on hk stock. China telecom to be exact, it earned me some money but I guess it's a start. My parents buy houses in hk and china for investments, so their job is not the only thing making money.
@others, i lived in CA for a few years so it wont be too hard to get to places. My phone comes with gps, and I have a Garmin GPS too. -

The difference in octane is how easily the fuel combusts. The higher grade octane is harder to combust. This applies to all engines, not just v8's. 87 Octane is just as bad for a v6 as a v8.
If you are looking into a entry level performance car, I personally like EVO X's. They went on sale in 2008 so chances of finding one in good condition with low milage.
If you are looking for more of a luxury sedan, German is definitely the way to go. With luck you can find a used A8 for ~30k with good mileage. -

Toyota Prius Brand new costs you about $35,000 with everything.
It is good for the environment. Why not save the earth.
If you resell it, it is easy to find buyers for a Toyota.
BMW M3 is really fast and the engine is fantastic, it is around 5,5000.
Mustang, Camaro, and Challengers are fun too. -
Fine this is awsome.. well go for mazda 3 this is not so bad well camaro ss... this is just a collection car so dont go for it.taeyeoNNNNNN wrote: »Im trying to get a new car.
