Yo dawg, I heard some said you can't hear across a ditch of water or a cliff gap. -
Barriers?
...
Oh you mean sprayers with ak's, MG's, or any other loud gun who make sure to nade the people who listen every chance they get and like to shoot whole clips at absolutely nothing.
Those Barriers right?
Yeah those are everywhere.
Moving Barriers suck ;p -

True.
Why isn't there a silenced gun in the item shop?
All those who can't buy zp crates or do enough surveys for BP are stuck with loud guns. -

Essentially there is a breathsphere that has a, according to gg, 24/14m radius, depending on bd or not. That is to say that the breath works in all dimensions, through walls, vents, etc just the same as if they weren't there. This is just a reiteration of what has been said.Yo dawg, I heard some said you can't hear across a ditch of water or a cliff gap.
This is false. Such example would exist in lab across the middle river gap. Sound is not logically absorbed by the surroundings as it would in reality. Disregard physics. -

Crossfire isn't that technical with sound actually. They just use a simple 2.1 surround sound system and as for the walls, you can hear through them. It would be nice if they added like a 5.1 surround sound system and support 3D sound. Maybe they could muffle the ghost breath when they're on the other side of the wall.

This would be an interesting test. I purchased new headphones awhile ago, some sennheisers and they work wonderfully for pinpointing with the 7.1 as footsteps can be heard at diagonals but the facing breaths are always still 2.1, but as far as picking up the sound QUICKER, I have not found this to be the case. Yes the volume can be adjusted more readily, but I have found, in doing a 1v1 test where the ghost drops c4, go out until you can't hear, etc, that my 20 dollar iphone earphones receive the volume at the same distance, although one is certainly louder as the volume can be adjusted in different ways. With SOUNDCARDS, I have not tampered with testing as I have not purchased one other than what came with the pc. If anyone has any testing with soundcards and gm, please do tell.
Edit: ^^Faze is cotton headed ninny muggins.

Not using a silenced gun in GM isn't the problem, you can do just fine with an AK and not hurt your team. Short bursts, and only shooting at real targets is fine, something that is doable.
Its those people who decide to paint the floors and walls in bullet holes that bother me.
Gotta go halfway across the map to ditch their useless noise and you're lucky if you dont get ganked om the way to sweet sweet silence. -

Dont u have to test shoot into suspicious space to find real targets. -

I use a headset, so I already know the general area and direction to shoot in, even if I don't have the time to pinpoint the exact spot, I'm not firing at nothing, there is always something there that I confirmed, with sight or sound, before pulling the trigger on my gun.
I expect the same from my teammates.
I know it doesn't happen often though, I'm just wishing ;p -

If there are more than 1 ghost around, at a fast pace game, do you still take a chance not to test shoot. -

1st: Let me say I am by no means claiming to be pro.
2nd: No I don't test shoot until I know of a directionality (otherwise I'm just wasting ammo that is better off being put in ghosts. Also I don't want to interfere with any of my teammates near me who may have a bead on ghost.
I'm an idealist though... I want to trust my teammates lol. -

Because silenced guns are major advantage, lower recoil and harder to hear where gunshots coming from. -

Type89 is as close as anything is gonna get...Because silenced guns are major advantage, lower recoil and harder to hear where gunshots coming from.
BZZZZZT. They only have lower recoil because that's now Neoshiz set them up...as if they couldn't have made a suppressor add-on for weapons that costs GP and expires like speed-defuse. And they can't blame that on the game engine...sense engines are designed from the ground up to BE extended with scripting... -

I am no pro neither, far from it.
I think it is okay to test shoot, just a couple of bullets to see if it hits anything. That's when silencer comes in handy, you dont have to worry about interfering others. -

I personally believe its better not to shoot at nothing (even though the gun might be silenced it's sound can interfere with a teammate for that split second it takes for them to eat a mellee to the face.) -

Pros and cons I guess.
If u dont shoot it may be coming to you, if u shoot u may waste bullets or interfere with teammates. -

type 89 is a silenced weapon available in the item shop. I don't really like that gun though. -

Not really.
Furthest the game allows is 24 without bdown or 14 with it. It's impossible to hear further than that without the breathe glitch.
Sometimes people can't hear that far (VATAV couldn't until he changed/got a new soundcard), and nobody can hear further (again, without the breathe glitch). -

LOL, master it? everytime it happens I just take off my headphones and play with my instinct. I dont c how you could PP when breath is everywhere and it doesnt fade unless you run to somewhere isolated.
btw is there a way to make yourself lag? I mean making yourself lag and then stop it...I've seen a guy done once, he made himself lag so when he went through the vent he just teleported rite infront of the guy o.o -

Sometimes I can pinpoint the ghost from very far away when I get the glitch, other times I have no idea where they are. Ceejay might just be very good at it.
I've heard something about lagging tools, not much more then that though. -
Whatever direction you first hear the sound glitch that's the direction where the ghost is, you just don't know how far.. therefore it's considered farther and it locks on to that exact spot. So if a ghost moves, the breath doesn't. But if you kill the ghost, the constant breath disappears. I've tried observing this many times and this is what I've gotten. I could be wrong, and I'm definitely not certain that I'm right, so if you have any other explanations for it then go ahead and say it.
And I must say these x-fi sound cards are absolutely amazing...........
