Need laptop selection help

Soz, my ancient (06 ftw) PC finially died. And, I'm getting a new laptop soon. Price-range is ~500 US dollars. It will be primarily be used for college, but I would like it to be able to handle games tolerably.

It's an HP Pavilion dm4t Entertainment PC series
Maybe bump the processor to i5 range as well as upgrading the graphics to 1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7470M GDDR5. I don't know, just trying to help out.

But I guess that's what I would recommend for a decent computer somewhat within the budget... as well as college in mind I suppose.

I don't know about if it will be decent for say.. BF3, but for sure it would tear through this game :)

Heh, if all goes according to plan, I won't have time for hardcore games at military college. But, I'd like something that could be atleast considered modern for the next 2-4 years. Something like: This.

With the promotion code, it seems to be quite a nice hunk of computer for the price.
