What he said. You probably killed your mobo, cpu , gpu, and possibly ram. The case, fans, and psu are probably good. Also the HDD is probabbly ok. -

Ok, so if i change the mobo, cpu gpu and the ram would it come back to life. lOL
What is HDD, Gpu and what about the cpu fan. Is there anything i can do to tell what is wrong/needs to be changed. Will the PORT testing card help -
If your gonna change all of that. Please just build a new one.Ok, so if i change the mobo, cpu gpu and the ram would it come back to life. lOL

Never heard of a cpu that didn't come with a fan. Use what comes with it or you might void the warranty. Swap out each part into another computer to see if it works.
Also if my mobo is dead will there be a sign of power. The powerlight on the mobo is still lit -
Putting a broken component in a good pc won't hurt the good pc. Just because there is a light on the mobo doesn't mean it wasn't fried.
What if you put a good component into the broken one. What is i bring it to best buy or something will they figure out exactly what went wrong -
Best buy charges a $75 minimum fee. Not worth it. It shouldn't ruin it. Usually they only go bad with power surge, heat , or time.
ok, so you saying
1)bestbuy charge a minimum of $75 to find what is damaged and what is not
2)putting new components to the smoked one won't ruin it
3)?? goes bad with power surge, heat, or time?? -
Check the processor, I had the same problem where everything runs and nothing turns on. Turns out the processor slot had a bent pin, so it all ran perfectly but the processor didn't have a good connection. Also could be your graphics card.
If it was the ram you would still see something on the screen, though it could be the monitor broke then lol. Easiest way to tell is yank the harddrive the ram and the dvd drives, turn it on with just the mobo and see if anything appears on the screen, if not then it is probably the mobo or the graphics card. -
Did you not read? He turned on the switch on the back of the PSU. He smoked his computer. Lol.Check the processor, I had the same problem where everything runs and nothing turns on. Sending a Jolt from the PSU due to running it at the wrong volts. May have smoked more then just his mobo. :eek:wouldn't be that hard to replace the mobo, unless he has absolutely no clue of how to do that. cheap mobo's are like 45$, if he has someone else do it, it'll cost him around 200-300. cheaper to just buy a new pc. -
Let me get this strait. This is not a discussion place. This is a place for you guys to help me.
Are you guys saying i should take conponents out and try it on this pc.
If i connect the hard, and hard.. Will it mess it up. This one have window 7 and the other one have older version. Will it harm anything -
umm if you take the components out of the fried pc, not the power supply, and just swap them, probably not. But if your new parts aren't compatible with your old pc, you'll have issues.
What i mean like one at a time. To see the problem -
Can you give me some advice on what to get. I know i
Dont need a tower or the PSU, can you get me a list of stuff to get and built a new one. My budget is tight. I would go for AMD x2 for the CPU. And i can only spend less than 1000$.
Btw i need more space per ram cause i run alot of stuff at once -
You can get a Quad core or better, 4-8 gb's of ram, New mobo, PSU, GFX card, Optical drive, HDD all for under a 1000$. Good luck finding a x2 for cheap as they are phased out.Can you give me some advice on what to get. I know i
