Memble Problem

Does mumble cause some people to lag? If so how do you correct it? Nobody else has this issue. One guy in the clan lags when ever he turns on mumble. Any help would be much appreciated.

mumble requires a pretty solid connection and decent bandwidth. also is he wireless?

I'm assuming you are talking about me.

If that's the case, then yeah, I start lagging whenever I use Mumble, but when I use Ventrilo, everything seems fine.

And my bandwidth is alright, 5 Mbps wired connection. (I don't use wireless for gaming)

-first of all did you disable overlay? cause thats a big problum
-second run as admin if your on vista or windows 7
-third you never told us your system specs so if you have a good connection and your not on wireless the only other problum i could see is either your ram is to low in which case i suggest gamebooster or your graphics driver is cutting out tell me if this helped

Why Thank You, I was trying to figure it out by myself, but it doesn't make any sense, since Rendo told me it takes less bandwidth than Ventrilo...

-Overlay disabled, that's the first thing I did, because X-Trap wouldn't let me start CF, until I did that.
-Can't run it as admin, i'm running on Win XP
-System specs:

Windows XP Professional SP3
Intel Core i3 (2.85 Ghz)
4 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1 Gb DDR5

I don't remember the motherboard's specs though.

only thing i could suggest is where was your mumble server made cause it could of been made into a brazil server or something without knowing how and that would cause lag other then that your computer should be able to run mumble without lag.

Try connecting to a different server, try out the ESG Mumble, if you wanna I'll pass you the info.

Make sure your settings are somewhat similar to these:

I think that's the answer, I do remember messing with the quality settings a little bit, but I do remember setting it back to default.

Problem fixed, I tweaked the Firewall a little bit, I was able to run CF and Mumble at the same time with no lag whatsoever.
