Why do you think cheaters cheat

  • If all else reasons don't fit, then it's probably because they just want to watch the World (Of CF) Burn.

Another theory I just thought up.

It could be the cheating companies and the websites that sell cheats employees' marketing strategy. Not different from spamming and junk mails, hoping some vulnerable souls will shell out their hard earned money to buy their worthless products.

    Just gonna say.
Hackers are people who make the 3rd party program
Theres "cheaters" are people who leech (a person who clings to another for personal gain, especially without giving anything in return, and usually with the implication or effect of exhausting the other's resources)

And they hack because they believe ruining others game, and seeing people cry is fun(Don't feed the troll)
Or because they can't reach a certain spot they want to be on,and need a extreme boost to get there.

Hacking a gaming is fairly easy, it is called "cracking". Hacking in the real sense is breach the security system. I am not sure X-trap can be called a security system, and the so called hackers can't really breach CF servers' database, can they? Not much a group of hackers, just some programmers.

You don't know this now do you?
This game is fairly popular.I'm sure at one point it's been "hacked"

I didn't know what? Of course I know CF is popular. Sony PS3 online server was popular and it was hacked by Anonymous, that's real hacking. Walling is just cracking a software coded in C++.
How can you be sure CF has been hacked? Did their database get compromised? I don't think so.

Cuz they got nothing better to do.

Cuz they sound like my sister
  • People easily get mad. An example: a guy is playing crossfire and is fairly new and doesnt know this style of play. He gets slaughtered and is angry for it. So what does he do to get back? Hack. that way it makes him feel better.
Other want to show it off to thier friends because theyre immature and want to be cool. people have thier reasons. i only wish everybody felt that way.
  • 1. New player that is getting annoyed/mad at the good players and wants revenge by walling them to troll them to make them feel better.
2.Got nothing better to do and love watching people get hell annoyed.
3.Raise there kill/death ratio, gain lots of exp, level up fast (if not kicked)
  • Biggest reasons to cheat.

    1: To win.
    2: To have fun.
    3: To have revenge.
4: Think it is the norm.

The biggest cause for these is high ping.

    In more detail.

    1: To win.
Higher ping makes it much harder to win or do well then low ping.
Cheating to win is much easier and faster then trying to get better with high ping.

    2: To have fun.
It is usually much funner to do well in a game then to do badly. Some will cheat because they find cheating fun. It can also be fun to see the reactions from other players well one is cheating. Playing with high ping isn't really fun so some cheat to have fun.

    3: To have Revenge.
Ever get angry at the players that beat you easily and repetitively? Ever get angry at players defending someone you swear is hacking? This is the mindset of this group.
Many high ping players think all or most low pings are hacking and hack to get even.
Some hack because they don't like being insulted and called a noob QQer all day (who does). This group is hacking to make another pay. Fighting with fire against what they believe to be fire.

4: Think it is the norm.
High ping makes it look like others are hacking. The higher one ping is the farther ahead there character on their computer is to the server and the farther behind everyone else appears on their computer then the server.
Players taking dozens of hits with no damage.
Players killing you even tho you were behind a wall.
Players popping out around a corner and killing you before you react.
Players killing you with what appears to be 1 shot.
If a player doesn't know what ping is and how it affects the game for them, it can make many things appear to be hacking.
So this group hacks because they think everyone else is already.

    2. There are so many low skilled players that you can easily kill, why do you need to buy cheats.

    3. you can always farm

First you can get your hands on alot of free cheats/cheats that require you to do survays(if your good at them you will have no trouble at it)

If they didnt patch farming tools they wouldnt be so much hackers :/

If i still cheated(i dont) why not? i loved seeing people rage..wanted to explore all different types of hacks to see what i could do in CF my fave: Flyhack(different to fly glitch :p),masterghost, remote kill, opk, long knife..(always on alts but alts with my name on it) Main got banned at lt colonel 6th, made some more hacker freinds and we would hack togthere :D was a fun time though, it just lead to more bans/faster bans :/
  • They suck at the game, but still want to win and have fun,get better weapons from the gp they got by hacking and yeh...it's fun for them to own everyone with an ak with no recoil so others think they're a pro.Still, why play a game that u suck at and cheat? This just destroys the game so everyone starts cheating and in the end the team with better cheaters wins.
  • 1. I think some people are just curious to see what it's like since they see other people doing it all the time.

    2. Some do it more subtly in order to seem "good" and to make a name for themselves.

These aren't the only reason they do it, I'm sure, but they popped into my head first.
  • Satisfaction from pi.ssing off foreigners?

Did they smoke too much pot or crack? I know this sounds like a rant but it is just my curiosity taken over.

    1. The so called hacking is not hacking into the system, it's cheating on other players.

    2. There are so many low skilled players that you can easily kill, why do you need to buy cheats.

    3. If you need points, you can always farm if you don't have shame, still better than buying cheats.

    4. If you want to win clan wars, win it so that you know you win honorably. What is the point if you can't improve your skills. If you have a 5.0 Kill per Death ratio by cheating but you will get slaughtered in a LAN party because you have no legitimate skills.

    5. If you really want to be the best, practice a lot, and save the money to get a better pc and keyboard, mouse, faster internet connection.

If you know someone who is a hacker, ask that person why does he cheat.

Lowe self-esteem? Lack of parental love?

    2. I don't think they need to buy it. According to Saidin or GM, lots of programmer did it for fun on some forum. For them, it is an achievement and wish others to use. So I guess they would release it for free.

I think there are a major problem in the internet. In real life, they need to be responsible for their behaviour, either through law or morality. In internet, there are no such restriction that can limit them.

Just imagine, if they found (or even by rumer) that when they hack, they are very unlikely to be kicked (this is the real situation, many vote kick on real hacker failed) or being reported (when players think report would not lead to a ban, somehow, many would think this way based on the forum posts) or not banned, the hacking would only bring them benefit. So the value system would make them choose cheats.

And there are some hardcore hackers, they know their previous account is banned, but they are still create new account and challenge this antihack system. At the beginning, it might be just a curious try, then it becomes a revenge to the ban, then at last it becomes a "hobby".

To totally remove this is hard, however, if hackers found that when they hack, they can not gain any fun (for example, players refused to respawn or they get kicked 1 or 2 minutes after they enter the room and get the account banned before they can finish any single game, i.e. keep being kicked before they get banned), the value system would change and they might stop it.

To achieve this, we need the whole player base to use the vote properly --- this might be even harder than ask hacker to stop hack.

The hope is, either the vote kick system is improved some way to make sure hacker are more likely to be kicked, or just wait the anti-hack system to patch all the possible injections. Both need some extra work. And the later one seems vulnerable. But in fact, I think Z8 prefers the latter solution.
  • I don't see how making people rage at you for cheating gives a person some form of pleasure.

My guess is alot of people who hack have mommy issues, and didn't get spanked enough growing up. Maybe they got beat up alot in school and never felt they had control over ones actions. Thus hacking prevented any other outcome to a situation other then them winning. I will tell you this, no amount of hacking will prevent you from getting your head dunked in a toilet filled with 7th grader snack poo. Get off this game, buy some weights and take care of it.
  • Those who say they hack to have fun from people raging or because they are bored. If that's the case it's time to stop playing the game and going to find something better to do like socialise :D Which they mostlikely won't cause it seems playing a game for 4 to 18 hours a day (roughly speaking) is alot better than making friends and actually doing something constructive.

If you are totally p***** off at someone becaue they keep killing you or are frustrated that you can barely kill anyone and keep dying constantly, then it's time to turin off the game.Take a breather and relax doing something totally unrelated and when you have calmed down get back on.
You'll find that you'll be doing much better when you are not trying so hard and when you are calm and relaxed and are having fun :)
  • It's due to their frustration from extreme constipation.
  • They hack to have fun and pi.ss everyone off. And also because their community cheats.
  • I've met a few hackers and asked them personally, they responded "Cross fire is so boring, we need to hack to actually have some fun in this game."

I thought seriously?! With all that this game has to offer? It would take me a year or two before i actually completed all the badge requirements. Not to mention obtaining ribbons and leveling-up.

I believe those who hack have taken this game for granted.
  • Let's see, this is copied off another similar thread. It explains why people hack thoroughly.

    4 reasons why people hack.

    1: Want to win.
    2: Want to have fun.
    3: Wants revenge.
    4: Thinks everyone else is.

    First one is obvious.
Many hackers that want to win are unable to do for what ever reason (No skill, bad equipment, High ping, etc...). Because they can't win with what they got and for whatever reason can't simply go to another game, they resort to cheating. Reason why so many BRs cheat. There is no MMO host near their country so any MMO they play they will be at a massive disadvantage, so for many of them they have 3 choices.
1: Play and lose nearly all the time. (Not fun)
2: Play and resort to cheating to stand a chance. (Fun)
3: Don't play at all. (Not fun)

    Second one is also obvious.
For the same reasons as 1. Losing isn't fun, and wining effortlessly depends on the person.
Some people have fun with easy games. And hacking makes the game a lot easier for many.
It can also change the game for the hacker, doing the same thing everyday gets repetitive.
Hacking is a way to spice it up for many.

Third one is a bit different from the first two.
Rather having fun be the base motive, the motive for this one is simply revenge.
Revenge against those that beat them easily, revenge against those that taunted them, revenge against those that are against them. They are simply hacking in order to **** other people off.

Fourth one is more a pear pressure thing.
Hackers are so common that many may start to believe that they need to hack to fit in.
Also many players DON'T understand how ping affects the game, so what is really lag looks like hacking to many high ping players. With the belief that everyone is hacking, its easier for them to resort to hacking too.
  • Talked to one once. Said he lost his high lvl acc and thought it was unfair. He said he was trying to get a high lvl again. I told him to farm instead lol.
  • I cheated out of curiosity. It was fun and I kept cheating until I used all my credits, even though I only played on cheating for a few days.
  • They're either kids or people who like frustrating others.

    Or just because they can.

What if we create a Honorable soldiers' server and clan server, and require a certain level of rank to join. This should help because:

    1. It takes time and effort to achieve a good rank. If they create new accounts, they still can't join the Honorable soldiers servers.

    2. If they spend their time and effort to get the rank, they will lose their ribbons if they get caught and will be denied access.

    3. Honorable soldiers' Clan wars will be less infested with hackers as well.
