"No posting about other games"?
Why can't we discuss other games in off-topic?
Everyother forum I go to allows talking about other games, never seen it as a problem.
Besides, allot of the off-topic regulars don't play this game anymore or already know of MANY other games they could play, so talking about other games won't really get them to quit CF.

According to Saidin, talking about other games is fine, as long as its not direct competitors.
"YO GUSIE GO PLAY AVA" is not okay
"Hey check out this Skyrim mod" is fine.
The ruleset is not to be taken literally, making them rather obsolete.
More of a set of guidelines for moderation, something for us to lean on when making decisions. -

Yes and if you went to the LoL forums and told everyone there to go play Cross Fire I'm pretty sure that post would be removed.
It's all about context. It's fairly obvious our community plays video games, and probably other free to play ones too! We are not that naive, however this community here is for our game. So if you want to discuss competitors then you can go to their community.
As Dot pointed out, if your goal is to promote playing and gathering and discussion about direct competitors then we're going to have an issue with it. If you want to talk about video games in the OT section then by all means be my guest! -

So how is Age of Empires 2 considered to be a CF competitor then? -
All other games are considered to be in an indirect competition with CF, all other games are considered to be CF's (direct / indirect) competitors.So how is Age of Empires 2 considered to be a CF competitor then?
Indirect competition = Competition among the suppliers of different types of products that satisfy the same needs.
