    This.

Also, don't try running Windows with Wine and running CF that way. The Windows will blue screen and then your Linux will get corrupted from it. It just causes a lot of problems.

    What is Wine? :O

Wine is a popular Windows emulator used on Mac OS and Linux systems.

Oh. Now I see. It would be a bad idea to run Cross Fire on it then xD.
  • You can run it with a MAC and use bootcamp

    That's a MAC, not Linux. ._.
  • Nope, Cross Fire currently do not support Linux, just pay and get Windows :)

Who would ever pay to get Windows? <..< Windows is a crap OS. I prefer Linux way more. The only reason why I'm still using Windows, is because there is no way to get Cross Fire to work on Linux.

Agree. But many programs are made for windows. They are still popular.

One major advantage of linux is there are so many distro that we can choose from. And the bad thing about linux is there are so many distro to deal with for developers. When we looks at why windows and Mac get popularity, that probably be the answer. The quite well defined system would be easier for developers to do something huge on it.

When CF can run on linux, please pm me the instruction.

That's the only reason why I use Windows still. If Cross Fire was available for a Linux system, I'd be right there.

Linux is the ultimate developers OS, it's simple to adjust to your personal liking. Hell, when I had it on my old computer I had seven different desktops, each with a different category of items.

and its hard to adjust it on windows or mac?

why would i need 7 different desktops?

It's not that it's hard, it's that Linux has a lot more options then either Windows or Mac. And with Windows or Mac, you mess up and the computers gone. With Linux, you mess up and you can still do everything just fine.

I had seven, one for each category of shortcuts I had. You'd know this if you had actually read and understood the entire post.

i understand why you have it... but isnt it pointless to go from 1 desktop to another? I mean that adds a step instead of having everthing in one place....

as long as you dont go deleting stuff you cant hurt it too much.

yup... just pointed out a flaw to his "multiple desktops" which = POINTLESS
  • Hur dur

VirtuaWin, Dexpot, or *insert other multiple workspace program for Windows*

Whatever you say, because you're assuming that I'm a Linux fanboy. I'm using Windows at the moment, and have on all but one computer. Try again, kid.

It's an organization thing, which is something you obviously don't understand. It helps me keep certain icons grouped with certain icons, and I changed active desktops depending on what project I was working on. It also makes it so I can, one one desktop I can have my CF REZ modding stuff open all in one place, and then switch to another one to chat people without having to minimize all my work, which is kind of annoying to do. So, it's only pointless to you. Many other people find it useful. Don't judge something based on only what YOU need/experience.
