Help with my comp pls.

I got this new tower and power supply from my dads old computer, well my power supply has been over heating lately from so much draw of power so I decided to change over my tower to this new one with the power supply.
I unhooked my power supply and hooked up the new one to make sure everything ran okay.
Went just fine, so unhooked everything transferred it all over to this new one, plugged it all in. And push the power button and I have no video and my USB are not working( mouse, keyboard) but it sounds like it is starting up regular.
I have no clue what to do now me and my friend are baffled.

Any advice would be wonderful

check watts , maybe your new one (dads old) is has lower watts than old one (yours).
Like ur one is 400 watts , your dads is 250-300 watts

My old one was a 250 and the new one is a 550
Because I have added a few more fans.

did you add new fans before the 550w?

No my power supply was running like crap before so I didn't want to try to draw more power

ok, so you put the fans in before testing the 550w?

I guess my question is did the comp work fine with a 550w before adding fans?

Yea. It dd. And so we unplugged the fans and still nothing

ok. Are you sure you didnt knock anything loose or not get something plugged back in all the way?

Nawww we took everything out of the tower ad transferred it all back and now it's running so I have no clue

must of had a bad connection somwhere.

yeah i think the metal plate that covers my usb ports and all of that was touching the mother board so it was grounded so nothing would work

where u well grounded when u did it. cuz alittle static electricity will fry stuff.
