.cfr files are the crossfire replays. You need to go into crossfire, go to storage, click replay and watch the replay, and record it with fraps or bandicam or another program. Then you import the recorded videos into whatever you're going to use to make the movie.

You can use replays in your efforts to edit. The final submission should be a YouTube link.

P.s. it says on the CFFA page:

Videos may be comprised of CF Replay Footage or CF In-Game Footage or both
