Option to not drop your gun upon death
So I know I'm not the only one that rages at the fact that I spend well over 200$ to win a gun, and everyone else steals it free of charge.
It's just simply unfair to the customer.
Would be an option to not drop your gun, so all those people saying "oh em geez I don't mind wen i drop mi m4 and someone tekes it D;", go ahead and continue with your thought process. Wouldn't affect you.
This is one of the thing that discourages me to buy temp zp guns, as they just fill up a room and give me no originality or advantage.
This would be an option in the "Misc" portion of the options settings, the effect would be your gun does not drop when you die, therefore rendering the gun "safe" in your eyes.
Upon dropping your gun it would be able to be picked up, but the gun you have picked up will not drop when you die.
It's just simply unfair to the customer.

I like how 2/3 of the people don't consider asking the person to use it. Invalid argument, unfortunately.Faze_Ghost wrote: »I like the gun drop though because people might run out of ammo, but I just wish it doesn't get damaged during the use of another player...
It is optional, and a lot of people would be uninformed about it, dropping their gun on death anyway. -

Well if your dead who do I ask? ok ok maybe it is a game and your still able to talk but do I really need to ask you? you don't need it your dead and in a battle zone do you really expect people to freeze besides your gun and say "hey can I use this"? -

I'm assuming you're talking about being on the other team. Why should my gun help your team win? I was talking about you being on my team, asking me "Hey can I try your epicleetamazingopzpgun?" and when I spawn, I can give it to you or not. -
To compare this to reality, I highly doubt a soldier will go up to a body and ask him to use his weapon, and he is not required to do so to be able to use the weapon.
The same is in Crossfire, a player will not have to ask to take a weapon from a dead person. Of course, people are angry about this.
But what do you lose by having someone steal your gun?
Your gun does NOT take damage when someone else uses it, so that eliminates that factor.
You are not robbed of your weapon because your body is dead when the player picks up a gun, so that eliminates that.
So what is left is the factor that you are angry about: The fact that the player is able to hold the gun without buying it.
Even if the player gained the gun permanently by picking it up, it would not harm your account one bit. However, you would be enraged that the player was able to obtain the gun for free, but you had to pay.
However, we are talking about gaining a gun temporarily, so that's somewhat irrelevant to what will be said next.
When a player picks up a gun, he only obtains it for the remainder of the game or until he dies. He will not be able to use it for a very lengthy amount of time, so I don't understand how you will become angry about a person using it for such a short amount of time (He is bound to die within seconds of picking your gun up.)
If you are, indeed, angry about a player being able to use your gun, which will not take damage, for a few seconds, then what is the problem with letting someone try out a gun for a short amount of time, and with no damage to you? Considering you are dead, he really does not need to ask for your gun, as your dead body is not in use of it (if you believe it is, then you've got quite a problem).
In addition, your bought gun will not "simply fill up a room", as players die very often, and guns on the ground are sometimes ignored (unless you are playing a 1 v 1 game, in which case, it will more than likely happen.)
TL;DR Section
Also, very simply, you are dead, and dead people have no control over their gun after they die.
So no, I don't think you should have the option to toggle gun drop on and off.

I was talking about either team, but yeah should one of your team hover over your gun and request permission to use it before picking it up? It's the only way since you are talking about weapon stealing not asking to use a weapon. -

You have obviously never owned a veresk, or ppbizon, kriss LM[etc]..
These guns, people pick them up. A lot. Those people die, other people pick it up, again. You die, another gun to be picked up.
So yes, in something besides SND/GM[etc], the gun will "simply fill up the room".
I don't quite understand what you didn't comprehend about it making me angry. Why should I buy a gun for a bunch of laggy foreigners that shoot me from behind walls and can't speak English?I was talking about either team, but yeah should one of your team hover over your gun and request permission to use it before picking it up? After the not dropping guns, they could ask for it. Not before. People don't ask and never will because this community is pretty bad. I don't expect people to ask, hence this post and not a suggestion like "Please ask before you steal my gun." which would've been ridiculed and laughed at. -

I mainly play TD, and quite often with an astoundingly rare weapon such as the Jackhammer-H (my treasure). The gun has never "filled up the room", even in 4v4 games. Usually, the person who killed me will pick up the gun, and he will die, the gun on the ground timing out.
You aren't buying the gun for them; you aren't paying any extra money because they are picking up your guns. -
I just dont friggin understand why does it matter if someone steals your pixel gun. Its basicly not yours anymore if you die. Get a fcking life. Ps. one of the reasons why gun "stealing" is possible is that z8 understands that someone who picks up a gun may start to like it and buy it himself.

Why do you care about ur gun? Ur dead then. If u respawn and u cant get ur weapon bc someone took it already when u died, then it will be a problem but atm it isnt.
I have ran out of bullets some time in TDM, if ure in the killing flow and u dont get killed and no bullets, so u need to take a new gun on the ground -
Why do people rage over the silliest things?
Like Pancake said, people using your gun does nothing to you.
1. You either are currently dead or just respawned. Either way, you are unable to use the gun or have a brand new one.
2. It doesn't affect the gun damage rate at all. Damage is based purely on how long you use a bag. The bag time determines how much damage each weapon in it takes. Bag time is applied after a game not during. So no damage is received from others using it.
Want proof? Only use your pistol in a game and your Primary will still take lots of damage.
3. It is a great way to test out a weapon before buying it. The main problem with the item store and BM is that it is nearly impossible to find out if one likes a gun before buying it. Add the 1/3rd return sale price and buying weapons to test them becomes very expensive.
I feel bad for people that go and win the Stakeout, it worse then all the GP shotguns.
They had no way of knowing that tho intill they test it out.
4. There are situations where one needs a new weapon in the middle of a game.
Being able to pick up other players guns adds tactical options to the game.
More options with no cost is always a good thing for a game.
5. And finally, if you dislike others using your guns. THEN STOP DIEING.
They were only able to use your guns because you died and dropped it. Get better and you won't die as often. Less dieing means less "weapon stealing". -

Agree with this. Just my only pet peeve is that if it was introduced, I would stop getting team naded in CW's ;-) -
If you don't like people taking your gun when you die, then don't use it. It's as simple as that. If you think them taking your gun gives them an advantage over you, then now you know how other people feel when you use that gun.Stoned4Days wrote: »So I know I'm not the only one that rages at the fact that I spend well over 200$ to win a gun, and everyone else steals it free of charge.

I would know what I'm talking about, whenever I'm using my SLRD, its the first thing thats taken from the ground. -

I see how that happens. Hmm, you ever get teamnaded when your teammates want it and don't want to follow you until they die? -
I once had a guy spraying at me with an AK for 3 rounds in GM cuz I wouldn't give him my M4Pat. Oh how my KDR died that day.
OT: Like other people have said, if you don't like people stealing it, then don't use it. While I personally hate it as well, I don't support removing gun drops, even if it is optional. -

Damn that sucks so bad. Should have glitched your gun into a wall somewhere and teamnaded yourself just to troll him xD. -
Stop QQing about dying. You're not the almighty god of crossfire if you buy ZP and anyone who picks up your gun should be beheaded. Get over it. It's just a game, and an ingame item >_>
Also, if you think someone taking you're gun gives them an advantage over you, you're noob with it anyway. -
Did you played any other shooters then crossfire?
I played many games like counter strike, cod, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and many others. The crossfire players are the only players that complain about someone stealing their weapons.
What is your problem? Why are you so angry if someone uses your weapon? That's the way it is, get used to it. -
It's completely dumb that you'd even suggest this, a gun drops, and it's on the ground, I don't see why anyone gets mad that someone uses it so they have an advantage. Yes, all the time, but they usually die before they get it, and I'm used to it by now, so I don't mind. besides, if you really want people not to use your gun that badly, just drop it in a corner when no one's looking and go out with your secondary.
