Reason why people get kiked in GM most often.

My main theory is that high rankers and low rankers don't fully understand all the tips and tricks of GM. Most high rankers, have been playing TDM and SnD for all their lives, and play GM sparsely. If an event / Mission comes along, here comes the Hurp derpers that don't understand it.

Now, most of them, are GM newbies, as in they are new. They're pretty lucky if they can kill a ghost running at them, and they do not know what bhopping/pinpointing is. All they know is that when you hear Darth Vader, spray like hell.

So far, that's worked. To some extent.

But then you get the people that love GM or are a natural at GM. They don't spray, spam left click using melee and run through the map.

Well, when you have a player that is able to do that, It's the equivalent of sound wh0ring in SnD and TDM, as well as prefiring.

You look like a haker, you play like a haker, and your KDR is most haker like.

In the end, you get kiked.

The best thing we can do, is to play in higher ranked servers (which is proving to be near impossible for some since most high rankers have egos that are the size of the complex map and kick all) or play with a clan mate.

  • It's not just GM though;

I've been playing HMX for lulz with clan mates and there is literally no hackers at all, nothing out of the ordinary is going on but the hackusations start like mad, and it's the same in other modes, I think they just don't have a clue generally.

Before kick voting was added to MM/HM/HMX and FFA I and others were very rarely called an "hacker" by some noob but after the kicking was added more and more players cry hack.

TBH I think most of the kicking problem/Crying only happens because kick voting is there.

Well, in FFA games, I got called a haker before kik vote, but to be fair, GM has always had Kick vote. It's even team based.

I think that most players need to learn GM tactics from an earlier age, like increasing footstep sounds on normal matches, and decreasing radio sounds overall.

Otherwise darth vader is just "noise" to them.

    Got to agree.
Most players use it as a tool to get rid of players they can't handle more then to get rid of hackers. Doesn't help that most hackers fail at the game even with the hacks.
  • You're giving them too much credit. Most people don't even know what breath is, let alone know to randomly spray when they hear it.

Most of them don't even know why there is an item called 'Breath Down'.
(Funny for the ones that do know, think it makes you completely silent.)

Its more of a reason why I think GM should have been included in the tutorial level to some degree. It's needed, because other than self training or being told, there's no real indication of these fine details.

Course, it could just be 90% of the time its someone who is jelly/raging.

I personally think there should be a mandatory tutorial at least for planting and defusing the bomb :/

Actually, that's a brilliant idea. Hmmm...

There should be an official guide to GM.

There should be a tutorial on the basics of GM. Not sure if bhoping is necessary to even go on there, but yeah..

I personally think there should be a tutorial which explains the basics of every mode in the game, and to also explain how the score works in that gamemode.
  • +1 to the tutorial although I'm pretty sure it's been suggested already.

Do you think maybe there should be some guide stickied about it or something? For example, to explain how the game of Escape works, why the time for the second half is the way it is, etc.?
  • One of my peev's is the little ghostiez crying "hak" and one of the new GR teamates deciding it as a true statement, then off to the votebox....up comes my name....then having to breakdown the techniques of the Global Risk side of the game.... i advise some to read the guides for gameplay on GM.. then play..

Agree with this 100%. But I can do either. When I start doing so good on GR, I get kicked and go off to the next few games on BL and try to work on my bhop. Just try to see the positives in evreything that happens and you will be off better than before :D.

I'm not sure a guide on the forums would work that well because most people that play the game aren't actually on the forums.

But something in the game would be nice for players just beginning. It could even be mandatory. I know I didn't use the tutorial when I first started.

-i enjoy playing both GR and BL...just usually when i do the GR is when them lil "hakuzers" really come out.;)

that's pretty clever....a tutorial for each mode IN the actuall game.

Yes, I know. Just make yourself look worse and have fun at the same time by either a) playing with no sound or b) only looking at the minimap and using sound to win. You can occasinally look at your HUD if you feel the urge.
  • because of people with huge egos, and fail bhoppers, and the fact that we know how to pinpoint.

So did I, but have you noticed that increased a lot since there is a way to remove players?

There does need to be a proper informative guide for the newbs willing to learn but as for the noobs they'll never change, it's easier to kick/cry for a kick than to learn as that takes too long.
  • Why GM is the most hack accusing mode.

    1. Playing BL is far harder then playing GR.
BL only have melee weapons and must get close to GR to kill them. GR have guns and can kill BL from a safe range. BL are only invisible well holding still or preforming a B hop.
BL requires more skill to go toe-to-toe with a GR player.

    2. It is round based.
When you die in GM, SND, or EM you must wait for the round to end to play again. If you die in the first 30 seconds you have a good 1 minute wait intill you play again. Because not being able to play when dead feels like a punishment the average player lashes out against the player that killed them and made them wait. No kid likes to be on timeout.

    3. There are many ways to be detected as BL that few know about.
There are lots of hazards in GM maps that reveal ghost. And they change in effectiveness whenever the Devs feel like trying to rebalance GM again.
Water, Lasers, Smoke effects, Glass floors, Glass windows, Footsteps, Breath, Blood, Pain screams, and maybe even more if the Devs start changing things again.
You may be perfectly visible or be detected at any second with out knowing about it and die before you can react.

In nearly every GM game, BL usually has far more hack accusers then GR.

Granted things like, smoke, lasers and light are visually angle dependent. It's not uncommon for ghosts to pass through smoke undetected because the GR player wasn't positioned like such.

Though many actual good ghosts know how to avoid most of these obstacles without problems. So I guess it depends on who you're against.

But yeah, the general population is oblivious to 90% of these.
  • It would of been better if the Ghost Mode had a tutorial where there will be an "invisible wall(soldier)" like the one for shooting range in the current tutorial, but a breath included to it so they could practice.

They also change them a lot.
Smoke alone as been changed how it works 5 times this year, and those 5 are only the ones I noticed. Glass also changed about 3 times as well.

The Devs keep trying to balance GM because intill you get a master b hopping ghost on BL, GM is very GR sided.

Lol, BL is pretty challenging if you play with pro PPers though not as much with ppl that just spray around. I get call hack if I use a knife and get kills and barely any death haha

Got to love GR players that spray everywhere for 12 seconds because they saw a glimpse of a ghost. Even worse when other GR players start spraying around simply because they see the other players spraying around.

Take note: GR usually lose a round not because they all died to the ghost but because the bomb was planted and they were all to busy spraying everywhere instead of defusing and covering the defuser.

    Anyways.

If you get 2 players of equal skill level to face off in GM (They all know exactly the same tactics, skills, and strategies), the GR will win the majority of the time intill the skill level gets to the point where the Ghost can b hop constantly and perfectly.
  • 2 reasons why people get kicked more often in GM are:

    1. GM suffers the most from hackers.
    2. The gab between good players and bad players is more evident in GM.

A lot of players still don't get it that you can pin point a ghost's position by their breathing, or that bunny hopping is both the fastest as well as the most stealthy way of getting around the map.

Actually, its the ghost that would win the majority, because the GR guy has no cover while attempting to defuse, if he's playing alone.
  • VATAV love ur siggy about GM kdr its so true. I can't get a 30-0 game anymore without getting kicked. GM does have a major disparity on who is good and who is not. I love how ppl around me spray when I shoot a ghost and they got an rpk or m60 lol. Wish they would make a list of legit gm players.... :(
