Bunny jump, a bug? a skill?
I know how to do it, but I seldom do it. I've thought it is a bug ---- in the games that simulate the real world, how could a bunny jump give more speed, height, and no noise? But it seems that it is in many games. AA3 just removes the jump to avoid the bunny jump. So I would say, it is an engine bug that is not easily fixed.
Using bunny jump one can jump onto a box that is higher than a person, can this be real? Is it better to allow the player to stack to reach the height -- this need some cooperation rather than exploring something hard to be fixed.
Moreover, I think some game like warrock don't allow player to jump during crouch or prone -- it is awkward too, for during jump change to crouch position should gain height -- but that would be considered an attempt to fix the bug.

The bunny jump was initially a bug, but then they probably saw that it balanced out the teams nicely and therefore left it as a skill.
And about your questions, this game is not really based on "real life" as Saidin said in one of his posts, GM/MM and Hero Mode [Normal/X] are all "extra" modes, the only ones that truly represent "real life" are the "classic Modes of SnD and TD". -

Bhop started out as a bug.
But than got accepted by everybody as a "skill"
P.s in the end Crossfire is a game. -

I only play TDM and SND. I hate the GM, ZM, MM. Recently I learned from a player to jump onto some place I've think impossible to reach. Before that, it is very confusing when I found enemy in some place.
Anyway, I think another GM said we should not have laser gun and Barret .50 -
No game is surpose to b like real life...
u would die with one bullet in ur chest.
ARMA II, I think they are trying to simulate the real battle field.
Personally, I don't like the crosshair on the screen. Every gun should need a right click to bring up iron sight except pistols. -
It almost seems like some maps are made around the ability to do double jumps. The taller boxes are basically the perfect height to double jump onto. Also certain windows/doors you can only jump into with the double jump like in the Escape map Temple Ruins. You can shoot the doors out or just learn to double jump. lol

Depends where in the chest you get shot. People can live through a surprising amount of punishment. If it doesn't clip anything important, you will live.
as for the bunny jump making you go higher, if you jump with the correct part of your foot you will get slightly more air (a few centimeters at most) on the second jump after the first. Faster -no...no...sadly.. ;[ Front part of our foot has a spring like mechanic to it -
Bhop 2 gud.
I can teach you the ways if you want.
A friendly player already teach me double jumping recently. I know how to bunny jump for a long time. At the beginning, I just thought it is bug that will be fixed soon. But when I read some articles online, it seems lots of game has it and it is widely used as a skill. Many of these games call themselves modern and realistic --- till this point, I start to think is it a bug in CF or not. For me, I would rather not have double jump. Bunny jump in GM might be ok. But if bunny jump can not only makes you move faster but quieter, it is too far away from realistic.
But compared to double jump, I still feel it ok. Double jump can either be replaced by animation of climbing (using both hand), or player stack, or the combination. Once player stack can be used to reach some place that one player can not reach, the cooperative between players start to take effect.
Anyway, when I bunny jumped occasionally, I thought my audio card has problems again. -

From this ^^, my guess is that you're talking about the double jump being more of the cheap part? Although I see how unrealistic both it and the bhop are?
