Why don't MODs use their powers more?
I'll often see threads filled with spam and trolls, especially in the competitive forum (but not only there).
Sorry if a certain MOD thinks I'm calling him out on this one but I've seen it happen dozens of times, I just thought of making a thread about it now though (so nothing personal).
Moderators will often post something along the lines of "stop flaming, stay on topic" or something of the sort, and then just leave the thread like it is. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to the forums if flame wars were prevented by deleting/editing posts that provoke other users?
I've even seen threads (some my own, many not) being closed because flame wars broke out on them. Why not simply delete the posts, and whoever attempts to start it back up again after the posts were deleted either warn/infract them? Perhaps some people want to talk about the topic intelligently, without flaming?
Also, are warnings ever really given? I've received 1 warning and 3 infractions since I became an active forumer, that's 3 times more infractions than warnings. One of the infractions was even for me saying "umad?... lol" when I was commenting on someone's avatar of a dog saying umad, but I digress.
Shouldn't more warnings than infractions be given? Warnings are there to guess what, warn someone. Obviously if something is serious enough then an infraction should be given, but for all other cases the user should have a warning or two on the specific type of rule that they broke before they start getting infractions on it.
I think the forums could be a much friendlier place if lots more warnings followed by infractions were given for users that fail to comply with the rules.
Rules are there for a reason, and yet they are rarely and selectively upholded, depending on each MOD's mood at the time that they're on the forums.
Just my 2 cents on how I think things should be run...
@MODs, this thread follows the rules as far as I can tell since I'm not insulting, just giving constructive criticism. No reason it should be closed. Also, don't take things personally, you're part of a bigger picture.

Mods cant be everywhere at once. they have lives too.
maybe you have 3 infractions and a warning because you follow the rules....
IF you dont like what they are doing, then you dont have to be here. simple as that.
also why should they give out warnings when half the people breaking the rules KNOW they are -

Simply trying to improve how things are done my good man. Not everything has to have a "my way or the highway" mentality, things can be improved.WaffleMunzta wrote: »also why should they give out warnings when half the people breaking the rules KNOW they are
Because then people that get infractions know that it's completely their fault since they were warned. -

Why does everyone reply like this to every critic post that someone makes about CF. Why should we leave, when the staff can improve a little.
However, the MODs do an amazing job. Quite a few of my posts have been deleted because of so called "trolling" and posting the "U Mad" face.
But you are right they should use their "powers" a little more. -
That's not much warnings nor infractions..
When you decide to write that text you should also think that people are lazy and that they'll type "TL;DR" and I know you're refering to the MODS, but then you could just PM them. You might get a faster answer and no annoying comments will be posted
LOOK AT KELATHE'S POST, HE'S ACTUALLY LAZY. -
Don't you think that's logical? They also close/delete the "QQ" threads. Usually they also delete spam threads and say that they can ban through clicking a couple times if they don't stop.DerMaimensch wrote: »They always delete my posts when I post umad in threads of noobs raging

Haha where's ur speech 9? I got my reading glasses on
Oh no... I can't apparently defend myself. I'll leave it to the OLDER, much WISER mods.
Maybe I'll learn a lesson here and there. -.-
Technically speaking, we shouldn't be having to defend ourselves on the first place... if anything, disputes on mod decisions should be PMed to Saidin. -
What I hate is have a legit question .Some smart as forum no lifer sparks off some crap .
Some punk calling me kid or noob .
Then a mod just post a really stupid reply trying to be funny .
Or when you prove a mod wrong , he is easily ****e ed off that day .
or my favorite , just closes the thread becdause they made o fool of themselves .
Yeah , they usually do their job half as
