do gamers read books? how about comics? (this is a thread that you can spam in)

I was an English major in college so I read a lot of books, mostly classic literature such as D1ckens, Shakespeare, Orwell, Wilde, etc. As far as the title question goes I would say gamers read book as they are necessary to their craft. Saying gamers have shorter attention spans for books etc, may have a bit of legitimacy as gamers tend to be visually stimulated, used to multitasking and such, but I say they just haven't read the right material that has engaged their imagination with that active analytic brain many gamers have.
I most certainly laughed for quite awhile when ****ens=D1ckens was censored, since he is my favorite. -

the only books that would be worth reading are the ones with movies/docs so there is never a point to reading a book
Just because you can take your own ideology and be completely idiotic by suggesting it's the only one worth using doesn't mean you're special.sugar****69 wrote: »Enders Game Yes!!! best book ever. Making a movie for it soon! Can't wait! Gotta go see it.
The movie is most likely going to be crap, considering the amount of material they'll be unable to convey. -

obviously.
i'm special because i'm far more intelligent than you and every one and much better at video games.
there's a reason why only certain books are made into movies. you would have to be a complete loser with too much free time to read books. -

I seriously hope you two are trying(and failing) to troll.
OT: I have been reading the Sherlock Holmes collection and I really like all the stories.
Apparently some people like Enders Game, might have to pick it up and see for myself. -

You don't know what you're missing.
Most books have a more developed story line, characters, and details that movies lack.
Movies are great and all, but they don't hold a candle to the book it was based on. -
Anyone played the game 'Dear Esther'?
It's essentially a visual novel, based on the Source Engine.
It's astonishingly beautiful. The only book i've ever read is Of Mice and Men., And that was forced upon me for school.
We had to read that too, in year 8 I think.
I actually loved that book  -

now YOU ARE A DUDE THAT SPEAKS ABOUT SOME SERIOUS $/-/!T thats what iam talking about ur 100% right man I SALUTE YOU .... seriously... i agree that movies and fun and all .. but reading a book is much different ... u see every thing in ur way .. like for example i started hating movies that goes about a book that I DIDNT FINISH ... it just burns the imagination in my mind like what happened for me in interview with the vampire ... while i was reading the book i saw the movie on tV i never watched it iam waiting to finish the novel first ...so i switched the channel right away ... but just seeing louis in the movie burned his image in my mind ... i even saw lestat and the little girl ... GOD I FORGOT HER NAME ... any way ... movies FORCES U ON SOMETHING THAT IS FROM THE IMAGINATION OF THE DIRECTOR ... NOT URS ... SO IT KILLS UR MIND SLOWLY ... U HAVE to wake it up ... d -
Books? I do read a lot of books.
Harry Potter (The book is better than the movie -.-)
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
The Hunger Games
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Comics? Sorry, I'm not interested in comics. Manga is much better. Like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc....
