Why cant i see my body and head armour?

I bought bulletproof body and head armour for 30 days on each,and when it says the items effects have now been turned on its not visible,nor does it appear on the little screen at side showing my character,i also have flashguard which is visible,and does show under headgear can anyone explain what is going on? thanks markysparky
