if someone can post a fresh copy of a cshell.dll? i need one because the other copies i got don't work.

1. Read This

2. CShell.dll click here to download

3. Press WINDOWS + R and write " MSCONFIG" and hit on windows start and take a photo.

4. The network connection settings have become corrupted. To fix this, click Restore Defaults. This will delete all of your settings for Windows Firewall, and it might cause some programs to stop working.

Solution:

Click Start, Run. Type services.msc and press {ENTER}
Double-click Windows Management Instrumentation
Set the Startup type to Automatic
Click Start to start the service.

Then run these commands from Start, Run dialog:

winmgmt /regserver
regsvr32 "%Windir%\system32\netshell.dll"
regsvr32 "%Windir%\System32\hnetcfg.dll"
regsvr32 "%Windir%\system32\wbem\wbemprox.dll"
regsvr32 "%Windir%\system32\wbem\wbemsvc.dll"
regsvr32 "%Windir%\system32\wbem\wbemcore.dll"
regsvr32 "%Windir%\system32\wbem\fastprox.dll"

my friend, do not confuse wuaudt.exe with wuauclt.exe

wuauclt.exe is the AutoUpdate Client of Windows Update and is used to check for available updates (for the various versions of the MS Windows platform) from Microsoft Update. The wuauclt.exe file is included in the Task Manager’s list of active processes when it is waiting for a response or an action to be performed by the user.

Aside from updating a user’s MS Windows-based system, the wuauclt.exe file also looks for MS Windows-based software and hardware updates. These updates can help a user avoid stability issues and even security risks or system vulnerabilities

What has happened is the file got corrupted - Make double sure the file is wuauclt.exe and NOT wuaucIt.exe one has an "L" which is good the bad one has an "I" the "L" is lower case

Wuauclt.exe is COMPLETELY fine. The virus that looks like wuauclt.exe is wuaucIt.exe. or wuaudt.exe, DELETE wuaucIt.exe but LEAVE wuauclt.exe

So is My "wuauclt.exe" a Trojan?

It is hard to answer this question as my file was not a trojan. This means that I do not have experience in catching the virus.

However, I am assuming, and please note that it is an assumption, that this is two ways to catch the virus:

1) Anti-virus

Anti-virus software should catch the virus. This assumption is made due to the fact that Symantec, the creators of Norton AntiVirus, have the trojan listed on their website (same link posted above):

2) Turning off Automatic Updates

Turn off Automatic Updates using services.msc (Start, Run, Type "services.msc", Press Enter. Right Click "Automatic Updates", go to Properties, Select "Disable" Startup type.) It has been suggested that turning off Automatic Updates in the Control Panel does not actually shut down the process. So, with Automatic Updates actually shut off, the process should not run. It should not run even if you elect to manual update your Windows operating system by visiting Windows Update. (If it does run, you have not shut down the service properly.) The message I receive from Window Updates, with Automatic Updates shut down, reads like this: "Windows Update cannot continue because a required service application is disabled. Windows Update requires the following services: Automatic Updates enables detection, downloading, and installation of critical updates for your computer."

If the process shows up with Automatic Updates shut off (via services.msc) then the process is probably the trojan. Please contact me if this happens to you. I wish to confirm this with an actual case.
