No new 1 character IGN's!!!

  • #TwoLetterNameCampaign

We need to keep the two letter names out in the open!
  • "it is necessary to implement this"

So how does 1 character IGN's affect the hacking situation, or the community, or the many bugs?

Are the hacking situation, or the community, or the many bugs the only reason that something would be necessarily needed?

I was just listing problems that we're currently facing, and wondering how IGN's out of all things help ANYTHING.

Backend stuff such as IGN Databases, and such. Files which have the IGN of the player could be easily mistaken.

Let's say you have code like this [just pulling around some numbers and letters; it's not even any universalized coding. I'll call it Hi Coding.]
    START
    UEGF13T4791T729T79T79TS7TAGUDSAJKGJ23G1U2G41U2G47G789WG7A876STD862186ASFASFASFASFR283456R1862R51863FYSGAJHSGDAETQ3T23T23T23TIN GAME NAME HEREWO083283Y598Y35UEGISGFIUAHGEIUGFIUGE91GQ395G1935791G501357013G7RG103R7139GQG170G3R71G3R17803RGEW3RGJZHSDBFKBEIUGF3U9RG193GT1G3T1783TG7130GT7TGQ730FEWG7QGFEW789QG7EWGFDA7UGD87GA87WEDTG87WTG78G3RT1783G78R0FG18GF871DH172HD172HF701G2079FG1703GF1783G8RG17823GF7801G38GF17803GF801278TG71GQ284G07146PT2394U7672-406720460G2M260-476027407U0W87T0WRE80FYW890EYF89WYT89-2-895Y2892Y8943TY892Y-F289-FRY2398RY2893YTSOGFDOISHGSWRHOGWORTYHWOTHOWHGOI4H2OH3FH283HF8923H9F2H8395H2893H52893H395Y23TYRGF789ETG79FGW79EGF79WEG791TGQ5R35RTG29Q3G9RTG2Q3RE3E72TGQ37RG23
    END

Let's say the player's in game name was A
    START
    UEGF13T4791T729T79T79TS7TAGUDSAJKGJ23G1U2G41U2G47G789WG7A876STD862186ASFASFASFASFR283456R1862R51863FYSGAJHSGDAETQ3T23T23T23TAWO083283Y598Y35UEGISGFIUAHGEIUGFIUGE91GQ395G1935791G501357013G7RG103R7139GQG170G3R71G3R17803RGEW3RGJZHSDBFKBEIUGF3U9RG193GT1G3T1783TG7130GT7TGQ730FEWG7QGFEW789QG7EWGFDA7UGD87GA87WEDTG87WTG78G3RT1783G78R0FG18GF871DH172HD172HF701G2079FG1703GF1783G8RG17823GF7801G38GF17803GF801278TG71GQ284G07146PT2394U7672-406720460G2M260-476027407U0W87T0WRE80FYW890EYF89WYT89-2-895Y2892Y8943TY892Y-F289-FRY2398RY2893YTSOGFDOISHGSWRHOGWORTYHWOTHOWHGOI4H2OH3FH283HF8923H9F2H8395H2893H52893H395Y23TYRGF789ETG79FGW79EGF79WEG791TGQ5R35RTG29Q3G9RTG2Q3RE3E72TGQ37RG23
    END

The "A" blends in with the actual code; so finding the player's in game name by looking at raw code would be difficult. This could be used when looking into the database [noone knows how the database is coded except for actual staff / not mods]

Now, let's say the in game name was something like MRFLUFFY1358
    START
    UEGF13T4791T729T79T79TS7TAGUDSAJKGJ23G1U2G41U2G47G789WG7A876STD862186ASFASFASFASFR283456R1862R51863FYSGAJHSGDAETQ3T23T23T23TMRFLUFFY1358WO083283Y598Y35UEGISGFIUAHGEIUGFIUGE91GQ395G1935791G501357013G7RG103R7139GQG170G3R71G3R17803RGEW3RGJZHSDBFKBEIUGF3U9RG193GT1G3T1783TG7130GT7TGQ730FEWG7QGFEW789QG7EWGFDA7UGD87GA87WEDTG87WTG78G3RT1783G78R0FG18GF871DH172HD172HF701G2079FG1703GF1783G8RG17823GF7801G38GF17803GF801278TG71GQ284G07146PT2394U7672-406720460G2M260-476027407U0W87T0WRE80FYW890EYF89WYT89-2-895Y2892Y8943TY892Y-F289-FRY2398RY2893YTSOGFDOISHGSWRHOGWORTYHWOTHOWHGOI4H2OH3FH283HF8923H9F2H8395H2893H52893H395Y23TYRGF789ETG79FGW79EGF79WEG791TGQ5R35RTG29Q3G9RTG2Q3RE3E72TGQ37RG23
    END

    It could easily be seen.

Now, this is a terrible example, but it's just one example. Many things could be going wrong with 1 letter names, it could be something even as mediocre as too many people spamming support with 1 letter name requests.

All that matters is that it was a 5 minute fix, and you shouldn't worry about it.

You will be missed fellow soldiers.

    Because codes are that random..
I'm pretty sure there is a line somewhere that specifically states their IGN and distinguishes it..
Doesn't really matter what kind of coding they use.. That's like.. really simple...
  • It is not a troll face. It is a Forever Alone face. Learn your meme's. -.-

The coding thing could be a reason why... but I do wonder why still they decided to take it away.
