Going "Patchless"
After every patch there is always a outbreak of hacks. I understand that this is only natural and this thread is not intended to troll or flame to Z8 Games or it's staff. It is a request however, to go patchless for around 6 months, during anytime sometime this year. I know many of you are probally not going to like this request but there might be a few of you that agree with me.
Quite frankly (please don't take this the wrong way) this last patch has been very disappointing and useless for me as I don't play HM. Now, I realize that Cross Fire doesn't revolve around me but, I believe there a many me here on this. I just want straight up FPS stuff, not any angry hulk mutants and humans on steroids called "heros". It's all fine to me, except for the hacking that takes place after.
I always have the funnest times in CF after 2-3 months as hacking drops to a very low ratio. However, the "prime time" is short lived as a new patch comes up and we're at square one. The cleanest gameplay I remember on CF (and I've been playing for awhile) was last year between the HM patch and the Navy Seals patch. I believe it was a 4 month in between?
Anyways I don't know if this thread really has any purpose or direction, but I guess I just wanted to share my thoughts.

if the hackers is on your team. you wont say a sht,and you also wont kick them,so shut up man,if you wana quit CF,then GTFO,no one cares
You totally didn't read my thread...
I request that you read all of it before you attempt to troll.
Edit: I bet I could roll you in a 1 v 1 and you'd be crying hack the entire match + a rq at the end...
Sorry for the retaliation, but I hate when people don't take the time to read everything and attempt to act pro and troll. -
This doesn't make any sense. Going patchless for 6 months means we have to deal with the same idiot mass of hackers for 6 months. I know Smilegate and X-trap "are trying" to patch the holes in their leaky boat... but I don't see how not implementing patches is going to make things better.

The only reason the amount of hackers dropped in between the length of patches was due to the hackers being banned.... New patch = more hackers PURELY because the cheaters make new accounts and use the new cheats that have not been patched yet.
easy mode: Hacks are easier to spot and ban for the longer they are in use. Hacks are easier to spot but harder to ban for when a patch is new, ie different code for patch vs old code for anti-hack.
On the flip-side, they would find new methods to introduce the hacks if they foresaw the patches not being changed. Either way, you will have the same amount of hacks.
Your logic is sound, your information is faulty. -
im not gonna lie, i see the opposite...after a patch, there is a lull in the amount of h4cks around, due to the fact the coding is constantly changing, so what worked before, doesnt work now...
but just keep saving replays//taking s/shots and reporting! -

HI Valens:
I agree on you. But z8 need to figure out a way to do that.
Last patch is not totally useless, I found several hackers quit the room before I can persuade anyone to vote on him. So I believe the auto ban system has caught them. Otherwise, hackers would not feel shame to keep playing.
However, as we all found, normally a patch can only work for several days. Once some hacker have a solution to bypass it, the hacker community will all get them soon. So it comes another dark period in which we are looking for the new patch.
The only most adaptive method is through the human being. We still need the vote kick system. But I think the vote need to be weighted by the record of a player to report a hacker -- how many he reported (an attitude) and how accurate he did it (percent of correct report).
Suggestions are made, after that, we can do nothing. But one thing I can predict, if z8 still depends on xtrap to block/detect hackers, we will still have to experience the outbreak of hackers again and again. -

It is hard, but not impossible.
Let's say, if everyone use the vote kick correctly, how would you think hacker will be able to ruin a game.
To achieve this, z8 need to record's players performance in hacker report, how many he reported, and how accurate are his reports. The vote just weighted based on the performance. Those who report more in quantity and quality have more weight.
Also, add a button to prevent a hacker to make more damage.
Another long term goal, distributed detection system which just simulates the human reviewer. So that some human review attempt can be handled by the auto detection. Because no matter how they inject to the game, they finally gain some advantage that can be found by reviewer. If reviewer's behavior can be simulated by programs, it would be a final solution, unless the hacker has made some code that change the replay files, in this case, the report and ban system would not do anything helpful anyway. -

This = Utopia. -.-; solves like (FAKE STAT ALERT) 90% of the problems (FAKE STAT ALERT)
OT: Okay, why not just have it go offline instead if it's that long of 6 months? It's obviously a money-losing choice to be looking at in either case, and the "hacking situation" is more or less quite stable at the moment.
It's unfortunate you didn't like this patch, because you state aren't really a MM/HM/HMX player, but there are still new weaponry to play around with
. That RX rifle is cheeese bro! -
This is a soldier fps, not mutant mode stuff
Quiet frankly I hate mutant mode, hero mode and the rest of the unrealistic stuff.
And yet we're all playing the same, virtual first person shooter game in which 3 headshots from the M9 result in a kill. Very realistic. -

That's what I was thinking. Patches are fun not just because of the content but also because they are hack free for 2 or 3 days.This = Utopia. -.-;
But Utopias don't exist. Any attempt to make them turns out badly as well...
Does that mean...
CROSSFIRE NEEDS HACKERS TO SURVIVE?!@!#@!#!@#$!@#$ -

You made a point completely.. Keep up the good work. /sarcasm
Also I don´t really agree with the OT even though you do have a point. -

Good points, I forgot about the fact Z8 needs to make money and some of the new weapons are pretty cool, however that thought was playing around in my head and I decided just to through the idea out there.
I only considered it because I recalled that when we did have a decent gap between patches X-Trap could catch up and maintain a more secure enviroment, resulting in less hackers...at least in my opinion.
Thanks for many of your imputs, I enjoyed several of them. -
Unfortunately going patchless for 6 months is probably not going to happen. Patches come out on an average of once a month.
What you are referring to is the general ebb and flow of popularity within the game. The time when you see hacking at its worst is almost always directly related to how busy the game population is at that time.
With the exception of right now. Xtrap continues to patch nearly once every couple of days to stay on top of things as best as possible! With the new X-Trap changes and our team here stepping up to do even more on a daily basis, explained here: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=195843
We are at an all time low in hacking within the game. I would reconsider some opinions if you believe that there are more hackers in the game right now than say.. a month ago. Because the fact is, it's just not true. And this is regardless of the current patch status. -

I never thought about that a little more hacking after a patch was a result of more people playing, but now that I think about it, it makes total sense. Thanks for your insight Saidin, it's appreciated.
Also, I realise that hacking is very low, espicially compared to early last year or in late 2009. I never meant (like I said before) for this to become a complaint/QQ/rage thread against hacking. I just noticed that it was a little higher than usual after the patch and that I just wanted to through that idea out there and see responces. -

^there's ur answer
I personally think patch or no patch doesn't affect the amount of hackers
