Skype imcompatible with Crossfire.

Whenever I run Skype with Crossfire, skype will crash and close forcibly. I know theres a skype that is compatible but the installer no longer works. So, anyone got any suggestions for this?

"If you can provide us with the version of skype you're using and your OS then it would help track down the exact incompatibility so we can get it fixed.

Otherwise you'll have to roll back your version to an earlier version as suggested."

If you can't get an earlier version of skype to work, you're indeed pretty much screwed. So far there seems to be no other fix available... So I guess your only option would be to use some other free program while playing CF.

Listen, there are meny problem with CrossFire and Skipe. So, I sugest you use Xfire. Yes thats really annoying. In other forms Iv heard of same story like yours.

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.
The version of skype I'm using at the moment is the most recent one.
Version 5.1 installer no longer works for all users. There is a message saying: Cannot connect to the download server. Then it gives you a link to download the most recent version of Skype.

Hope that's enough info.

Any version of Skype 5.1 or lower will still work with Cross Fire. You have to download and install that version. Otherwise nothing can be done to stop it from crashing.

Waiting is still the only thing you can do, together with hoping that the info you provided leads to a faster fix.
Did you find another program that could replace skype while gaming?

And requiem, he already said 2 times that the installer of the previous version doesn't work for him...

Download a new one then. I have an old installer and it works just fine for me. Just used it actually, to check if it did.

Once again. The new version of Skype crashes with Crossfire. The old one says it doesn't work. So...therefore this is odd beyond belief if it works for you. It says that download server cannot be connected to with the installer on the forum link about common errors.
