Add a button to apply to join a passworded room
I want to join a password protected room, but to get the host's attention, I have to whisper the host. This however, need to TYPE /w hostname May I join the room? Something annoying when host name is not a meaningful word.
Why not add a button so that we can apply to join a room. Host will have the option to mark the room strict require password (can not apply to join) or open to apply. In the mode "open for apply", host can get a message box like: "Player ***x want to join the game, he HAS/HAS NO honorable soldier ribbon, his rank is ***x, kdr is x.xx, press f7 to accept or f8 to reject, f9 to switch to another request to join"
And once room is full, you can not apply. When the accepted numbers makes the room full, the other applicants would receive automatic reply like "room get full during application"

Dumb idea.... All you have to do is whisper the host to ask if you can join. He put a password on the room for a reason. (Private room) Scrim, practice, 1v1, etc...
Can not be dumber than you saying it a dumb idea. How many typing do you need to whisper the host? What if his name is hard to remember? We can not even copy and paste the player name.
A button to request to join, and host just need press a button to accept or reject. Would that be much easier for everyone? -

What if you know that guy? And he can't quit the game because it's ongoing. And he forgot the password.
PS: You have a scary avatar, that's why Mod9 closed your thread -
The room is private for a reason...
Passworded games are usually important(in a CF kind of way) and the host might get spammed with requests and won't be able to play.
What happens if it's a tournament game?
I guarantee some people would just be spamming the heck out of it.
The host of the game should just use an easy to remember password or go to the game lobby and look at it. -

In post, I have mentioned that a host can choose to start a room fully passworded (invite only, or those who has password). So now there is no button to click to request to join the room.
When the host set the room as protected and accept application, we can see the button to apply.
Even now, you can still whisper host to ask for password, that would annoy host in both way, when he don't want it to be open for application, he got lots of whisper. When he want others to apply, he need to whisper back the password, or invite the player (which need to search from player list). -
Why would you ask a random host to let you in his private game? If it were your friend the he should be on your friends list and there he could easily invite you in or you could just right click his name and click the one to whisper.
Nice point. But first thing, when you have a long friend list, you probably don't even know the host is your friend. But this can be implemented by an additional flag on the room to show if the host is in your friend list.
But consider another case, in which you don't know the host and host can know if you profile and willing to accept more people in a room, this button will do the job.
