Ok so i go to play cross fire and when i go to click start it takes forever for it to download when it usually takes 1 sec

Do you mean download the patch? is so then you can go into your crossfire folder and click patcher.exe
If that dowsnt work just redownload crossfire. if it doesnt downlaod crossfire something is wrong with your internet.

Just be patient. This is a larger than usual patch. If there hasn't been any progress from the download bar for about 5 minutes, then close the program, possibly restart your computer, then try again.

Has the game patched? If not, look at the bottom left to see the download progress in the CF launcher.
