"Connection has expired" is a rather common error right now. Everyone used to be getting it whenever they left any server, but one or two patches ago it became less common. It seems mostly limited to Alpha right now (judging by the made threads), but I left Alpha without problems last night. So it's not happening to everyone anymore. All you can do is wait and switch servers as little as possible (or stay away from Alpha as much as you can).
