G4Box Inc. Discussion

Hmmm...I'd say Z8 makes around $50k a month in BM sales (ignore any expenses/payroll, as Z8 isn't going to release those figures since they are a private company). Some stays with G4 and Z8, but the rest goes to the devs. Now, the devs have 6 versions running (unless I miscounted)...if I say $50k USD x 6 that's about $300k per month over all of them...
So, in ALL that money...I'm am QUITE DAMN SURE they make enough to pay those coders to find and fix bugs that pop up across all the versions. Time? Sure, it may take some time...but not 3 FRICKING MONTHS! Man, I'd love to even know how many employee's they have...
There are about a million things wrong with the statements you have here.
Your "esitmate" is based in no fact. Since we do not release any purchase stats, from GP to ZP it would be impossible for you to figure out that number.
Secondly, the developers of Cross Fire have also not released their licensing fee, or what how much they are making. Again, your estimates are complete guesses based in no real fact.
The populations of the games is entirely different. Again, another statistic that isn't released by any of the companies. However it is safe to assume that the population of the people playing some of the Asian versions of the game is more than the NA version. And that assumption is based on just the population of the regions more than anything.
No one knows how big the companies are so your estimates about manpower are also based on no fact.
It should also be pointed out that for every transaction that happens it gets split up in to the many different parts that make up the whole system that allows us to run and host Cross Fire. From licensing the game from Smilegate/Neowiz to operating the website and servers, to hosting different payment methods and operators on our website. We do not make $1 for every $1 spent. This is an obvious fact of business.
And it seems relevant to point out once again the G4Box (the people who run Z8Games and CF NA do not own or code the game). We would love to hear about a bug you found and if we can reproduce it properly we can communicate with the developers to get them fixed. We try to get 5-10 polish-type bugs addressed in each patch. The spelling mistakes for example are no where near what they were 2 years ago. Sometimes we have lists of bugs that we keep track of, other times we need to hear more information from you. But remember that just because you have an issue with loading does not always mean its the games fault. You are quick to blame us, but almost always there needs to be more information and more exploring to be done to determine the exact cause of the problem.
In the end, what we have here is someone who is frustrated by a specific incident happening in game and looking for reasons and excuses to blame someone else (namely us). Your frustrations are completely understood however throwing out numbers which you have no idea about doesn't do anything but propagate rumors and false information. -

Sooooo....
"From March 24th until April 24th, Cross Fire is donating 10% of the sales of the Panda items and the Japan Flag Name Card[/B] to the Red Cross Japan Disaster Relief." - [GM]Saidin
"Note that items without real value (GP/BP) will be converted to equivalent monetary value for the purposes of donation. 10% of these sales of these items will be donated to the Red Cross after April 24th 2011." - [GM]Saidin
forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=138773&highlight=10%
And
"Our users showed their love and support for Japan by sporting Panda items and Japan Flag Name cards in game for the last 4 weeks. They have collectively helped Cross Fire make a generous donation of over $5,000 to the Red Cross Japan Disaster Relief Fund!" - [GM]Saidin

$5,000 is 10% of $50,000...nice pocket money right there...and like I said before, that's off of two items. Refute that Z8 made over $50k in those 4 weeks...YOU posted that information.
Anyone else (besides a puppet) know how much those items were listed for? Seeing as you have to top up ZP in at least $10, even if the items were only worth $5 Z8 was making a killing off an event that killed thousands... -
The profit margin is pretty thin , all your numbers are just speculations that do not apply , people dont buy the same amount of zp every month , for example during the summer where people get summer jobs you could have 150k while during the exams you could have like 20k
Anyways , your message is invalid -

Qft.
During the Japanese relief fund, people could have felt sympathy and purchased more zp to support Japan. Also, keep in mind the economy issues we are experiencing right now. -
Sooooo....
Considering the fluctuations in the industry what was semi accurate then may not be now. A lot happens in a year, for all economies.
And the fact that GP/BP was calculated in to that which is virtual currency that has to be converted, plus all items sold within the game have monetary value attached to them that gets split up in the many ways that have been discussed here.
In short, while you may have deduced a number from that charity event that happened a year ago, it was more like.. after converting all the numbers from all the items that people bought, and regardless of what it cost to us as far as profit, or servers or wages or all the other things that go in to running a business, we donated that amount to the red cross.
Company Policy, and common sense, prevents me from discussing these kinds of numbers with you. You may assume what you want and if that makes you sleep better at night then by all means. But they are just that. Assumptions based on little to no fact. -

You don't disclose any information to the public, and yet you criticize the people with the little information they've dug up to support a hypothesis.
The estimates may or may not be accurate, this is true, but as someone with more power, it is your responsibility to keep the public well informed. Sure some mindless people will follow your words to the edge of the earth because you carry a [GM] title in your name, but that does not make you anything more than another human being. Some of us would like to know where the money goes to, the money that we use to support this game and keep dinner on the table for the families of the company.
Something that does help us sleep better?
Remove the hackers, get on your anti-cheat company's ass about how slow they update.
The loading bug that's been around for 2 months now, with no real update on what you are doing to fix it.
The client error that we all get when we get pushed.
The hesitation of joining a team death match in one of the big servers, and thinking which one of these happy face rank people does not belong? This is not something I should be wary of.
I remember when CF was a better place, a place where people have the right to voice their opinions, a place where constructive criticism is given instead of the cold shoulder.
I have nothing against any of you, everybody has their own lives to live. No one enjoys doing work or being told what to do. To you, this thread might just another mindless QQ thread in which we all complain to you what an awful job the company and developers are doing. To others, might be the start of something new and wonderful.
Maybe the company has been too successful and grown up too fast, the ideals of which started the game has been diluted. To some of us, it just seems you have not been paying enough attention. In a way, we, the players are just like children. Sometimes you just have to give us some attention and tell us a bed time story before we cooperate and fall asleep. -
I doubt they make tons and tons of money to be perfectly honest, according to wikipedia (yeah wikipedia may or may not be accurate but someone posted it there so im just adding it here) z8 alone have 75 employees.... Imagine how much goes out in wages each month never mind all the other costs.

Hamsters don't count as employees. If there were 75 employees, then this is a much sadder situation than I originally thought.
70 out of those 75 employees must have majored in custodial engineering.
