Atlantic Coast Server

I'm just wondering if this would be possible because we already have a west coast, so why not a east coast? It be a great server between Canadian+American players to play with UK server friends with less lag, but i also think its a bad idea because it just seems not much people would play on it, any other suggestions on the idea?

If you did make one somewhere like New York if it was made in america, or Halifax ( Nova Scotia ) if it was to be in Canada.

  • I second that. I live in NY and it is really bad here. I get .5 t0 1 whole second delay in game---when I see an enemy it is too late because it is 1 second late for me to see.

    East coast server please.

    That makes no sense...
  • Make it in Washington DC, I would get like 10 ping :D

The closer you are to the server the less the lag. The lag is killing me and I have a good pc with cable internet.

This makes no sense at all.. The servers are in Canada already. New York should have a stable 35-45 ping. I know, because I live in New York and even when they had that period of horrid server instability a few patches back, my highest ping was only 76.

If you live in New York and you have connection issues, get a new internet connection. It's not the servers otherwise everyone in New York would be experiencing it, and so would all of CFNA.

The servers are all East Coast, unless they say otherwise (West Coast Server, UK servers, ETC ETC.)

There is no east coast server for CFNA.

Distance from servers makes a big difference.

There are Canadian servers, West coast servers, South servers, UK servers for NA, but not on the east coast.
  • I actually agree with this suggestion. So me and Zero can do the duo GM thig without lagging :D

Well, South server is actually also East Coast.

You won't get much ping difference by placing a server in Halifax instead of Quebec, so I don't really see it happening.
  • Where is the south server by the way. East coast US---NYC, DC, Phily, Boston.

The servers are to my knowledge all located on/near the Eastern coast of the continental America (As I said, unless otherwise stated in the name like West Coast Server and UK servers). Like I said, they're actually East coast servers, and if you have trouble playing on the servers it's something on your side, not the servers or their locations.

    Miami. NY isn't exactly south.

Check your facts. On this website Z8 has acknowledged that there is no servers on the US East Coast. Go to Z8 website, log in, click on support, click crossfire, click FAQs, #3
    Read below:

    3. Why do I lag and how do I fix this problem?
Currently, Cross Fire servers are located in Canada and on the American West Coast. Players not located within a reasonable distance of these regions may experience some lag depending on their connection. There are many other reasons why you could be experiencing lag (your internet service provider, router settings, internet speed, etc.) but your location and distance from the central servers will have the largest effect.

The area of Canada that they're located at are close to the East Coast though. Check your own facts, it's common sense. Like I've said many times, if you have connection issues and you're living in New York like you said, it's not server latency, it's something on your end.

I am not going to argue with you. I just wanted to point out there is no server on the US east coast, a fact is a fact.

I have Warner Cable internet at speed over 10mbps.

    My pc spec:

    HP Elite
    AMD Phenom II x6
    Nvidia GTX560 Fermi
    16GB Corsair RAM
    1.5TB SATA
    24" Dell LCD

Why would they put a server on the East Coast? The servers they have are located close enough to the East Coast where anyone playing from that area should have one of the better pings.

10MBPS? That's it? My computer completely sucks, the best thing about it is 2GB of ram. I run Cross Fire with 30-45 ping and 30-60 FPS. And I'm using a 100MBPS connection from Time Warner Cable. So either you're lying about your specs, or you're lying about where you live.
  • Stop arguing you two. The Alpha-Foxtrot servers are located in the Toronto, Canada area, CLOSE ENOUGH to the East coast.

Why would I lie about my specs--it is less than a thousand dollars setup? I have more integrity than arguing with a juvenile accuses whoever points out his ignorance about certain thing, namely no CF server on the US east coast---a fact some people do not know.

A 10MBPS Times Warner cable internet services costs 40.00 greenbacks a month. I don't know how much you pay for your 100MPS, that is commercial grade connection which majority of people do no have. So of course you get such low ping.

Would you like me to take screen shot of my windows performance index, and my speedtest.net result to share it here?

Stop being a New York jerk by calling others lying when you are the one who does not have the fact and not admitting it. That's insulting. Have some manner here, you are not in Bronx.
