I can make an assumption god doesn't exist aswell couse the universe can be explained using the laws pf physics

    Refer to reply to Denxi.

so that proves mutant and zombies exist right?
no i dont say that they exsist but clearly you dont understand what means sci-fi.
Go read books maybe it will help you.

Nor does the Senital Beam from Halo exist.

I actually red books and like to study in my free time rather than playing public games and zombie mode like you , so if you wanna have an intelectuall conversation you can start right now

I know you're an intelligent fellow. And undoubtedly you've taken at least a grade 12 biology class. You very well know that genetic mutations can do just about anything.

What I'm trying to say is that CF Mutants are Smilegate's perspective of a worst-case scenario genetic mutation based off of a virus.

Now this worst-case scenario may never happen, but it's not implausible to have a mutation which stimulates major growth in the muscles and destroys and alters skin pigments to make them green.

This game isn't a manifestation of what is realistic or not in the world. If that were, we'd be having much more troubles than simply CF Mutants.

Something that is implausible is still more sci-fi than something that is REAL and CURRENTLY EXISTING.

The entire sci-fi genre is based off of plausible science gone wrong, whether it be science we currently don't have, or science we DO.

"What I'm trying to say is that CF Mutants are Smilegate's perspective of a worst-case scenario genetic mutation based off of a virus. "

    THAT IS SCIENCE FICTION.

If you want to compare those two, compare mutants and lasers, or a game's mutants and a game's lasers.

Of course a game's version of something is less realistic. Lasers in sci-fi games are less realistic than real life lasers as well.

As you so neatly pointed out earlier, this ISN'T A SCI-FI GAME.

So why would I bother arguing for sci-fi lasers?

OBVIOUSLY WHEN SOMEONE SAYS FRUIT, THEY ARE REFERRING TO ORANGES AND ORANGES ONLY.

"hey let me trow something that has nothing to do with the conversation nor proves anything"
    Brilliant.

Because, the point of this thread was to say it is turning into a sci-fi game. Therefore, I'm talking about sci-fi lasers. The kind of lasers you see in a sci-fi game because they are science-fiction.

The senital beam is a laser gun from a well known sci-fi franchise, halo. I am strictly comparing to sci-fi guns because the OP of this thread is saying that it is becoming a sci-fi-ish game.

If we were to be a game based of the sci-fi genre, those would be the kind of weapons we would have.

Since when is space, low gravity, and a space station science-fiction?

some people doesnt know those things exist :O

and you still fail to tell us how cf mutants are not sci-fi

sry i dont want to argue with people who dont know whats sci-fi.
If you want to know why here is a example:
We start to talking about this->then people join to start argue about it-> People start to insult and etc-> we get all infracted because of stupidity.
Is it good reason enough.Did you understand the real fact why i dont want to argue about "it".
    tyvm
Pls mods close this i have feeling people would start to go to Fase 3 !(insulting)
  • ixneD wrote: »
Because laser guns, something that already exist, are more sci-fi than a giant mutant killing spree.

    Yea.

??? laser guns dont exist wtf

When did I say they were not?

I clearly did say our version of mutants were sci-fi. I said that we are not a sci-fi game because our game does not focus on those aspects. Our main focus is still the military shooter. Therefore I never disagreed the idea of our mutants are not real, I said that mutants do exist. The same way that sc-fi lasers are different from real life laser weapons.

clearly you dont.Pls stop argue about it.its no use at all if you keep "fighting" against me.

    Replying:

here's the example using cf mutants , what that Hi said , tough cientifically possible it is sci-fi aswell as existing life in other planets is sci-fi , we know 99% sure that life exists on other planets but it can't be proven scientifically , therefore is sci-fi

pretty sure deadeye said this wasn't a sci fi game and you coudln't sugest sci fi weapons and maps couse it wouldn't be implemented
  • Here's the verdict.

Don't like Mutation Mode? Don't play it. Mutants may lean on the side of SCI-FI, but having the mode doesn't classify CF as a SCI-FI shooter. Some games will have some type of SCI-FI side to it, but it is not the focus. This game is an FPS, which can fall under many categories. Having a SCI-FI side-story isn't exactly detrimental.

Mutation Mode isn't meant to be realistic.
Hero Mode isn't meant to be realistic.

You guys are playing a game in which you respawn after dying. Is that not unrealistic? I agree with Denxi, CF Mutants are not real. Hopefully they'll never be real.

Case closed, think what you think about the situation. I honestly could care less about whether a fantasized [remember you don't have your own] laser gun or a fictional mutant created by a team of developers are more realistic.
