X-Trap Causing Blue Screen?
Yeah so the title kinda says whats happening here
I run CF I get a Blue screen thats mentions the XDVannn.sys file that is malware. Yesterday I got this message for the first time and did a complete system scan, virus scan using avira, scanned with spybot and also with CCleaner and they all came up empty. So I just tried cf again yesterday and it was all good.
I come to play today and the same thing again so I did some googleing about the XDVannn.sys and turns out that it is a file that XTrap uses.... I've tried a reinstall and all and still the same problem seems to be occuring.... So I am completely baffled as to what the problem is here....
Also I found a forum post through google with someone having the exact same problem as me and he also used windows vista (although the post is old) but just a different game. If you wanna take a look - http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=93802
Also if anyone knows how to understand this I've also uploaded the .DMP file created by windows -

The .dmp shows 'ntkrnlpa.exe' as the only file causing the problem. That's a windows system process, so doesn't really help with identifying the problem... Is this only happening when you start CF?
It's giving a 0x1000008e error, so try making sure all your drivers are up to date and correct. Another option would be to update your BIOS, but considering CF ran without problems so far, that should not be the problem... updating your BIOS might also cost you something, so I'd wait with that...

Wow thats a different one that I got yesterday then o.O
But even today after the comp restarted itself a message came up saying windows had recovered from an unexpected shutdown and gave an option to find what the problem was and after that had finished it said the XDVannn.sys was the problem causing it o.O
When it happened yesterday on the bluescreen it even mentioned XDV.annn.sys, although today i didnt even bother reading it asa i thought it would of been the same lol.
And yes this only happens when im playing CF doesnt happen any other time and never had a blue screen before using this comp. It lets me join a game but after 1-2 mins of playing is when the blue screen happens -
Random question. When was the last time you scanned your computer for viruses?
BSOD's, even if related to x-trap or cf in some way are usually some sort of hardware, driver, or virus issue.
What processes and other programs are you trying to run? Try to eliminate the case of software conflict? (ie end everything else and just run cf) -
I do a virus scan at least once a month (and the same for spybot SD and CCleaner) and scan anything I download - Also I have done another scan since the blue screen first occurred and it came up clean. I last updated drivers last month so I doubt it is that but I will check for any updates on those tomorrow when I get onto the main comp (on the laptop now)
I dont run any other programs while using CF and turn off aviras guard while playing, I dont even use xfire with cf. As for the processes running I didnt actually look at that but tried running gamebooster while playing today after the blue screen and still got another
This is why im totally baffled lol... Never had anything like this before 2 days ago o.O
May attempt a system restore to before 2 days ago to see if that helps any tomorrow.
* Should add that I got 3 blue screens in total today and then it ran fine for over an hour until I left. -
If a system restore doesnt help you and you updated your graphics drivers, then I would open your computer and blow everything out really good to make sure it is clean. Remove and reseat your graphics card. Ive had BSOD from memory issues due to my pc having dust on the cooling fans. Ill be back after dinner, let me know what happens.

i plays this game 20min or so then it shuts down blue screen then reboots with XDVAnnn.sys.
has caused the problem wtf
Yeah sry I didnt fix this problem, the desktop comp isnt even set up any more I have no room for it at the time being so I dont even know how to fix it myself yet xD -
I had the same BSOD, XDVannn.sys Its related to Xtrap. Action Center in windows 7 will say its malware. But I did alot of test. Windows 7 run = verifier.exe
See if you have any problems. I had a Motherboard driver that was the wrong drive for my board. Updated Motherboard drivers, No BSOD so far, but only played 1 hour. So we shall see???
