Ability to send the CF GUI to background
The embarrassment is: when I feel the game lag and I want to check my ping, I can not do it.
My system is windows 7 and xp. Previously, the game gui can be sent to background, so that I can start a cmd to ping or use pingtest.net. However, currently the gui would not be back to end, so that the ping result can not be read or the java applet button can not be click. It is painful.

you can see the ping ingame?
When I am out of the room.
BTW, the in game ping indicator is a joke. I have seen a 49 ping, but it definitely feels not.
The best way to check your ping in game is to change weapon. IF IT TAKES LONG TO CHANGE YOUR WEAPON, you'd better check your ping. -

Thanks for this information. I think it can reduce my usage of ctrl+alt+del whenever the button is out of screen.
But I really don't understand why would it be in the foreground always. Say, if you play it in your school's computer lab, and your instructor came to check if you are working on your projects, isn't it reasonable to send it to back ground?
I remember on my xp it could send it to background, even though it took really some time to switch back. -

Hitting alt+tab only works if it has something to switch to (other than my desktop ofc) for me.
OP: use windowed mode for the menus. You don't even need to alt tab out then.
And you should be working at school, not playing CF... -

There are lots of cases you need a fast switch between windows, not only in school.
Read a messenger popup for example. You alt+tab and found that behind the cf gui.
I will try to have it run in the windowed mode for the menus, I guess it should be in the options. -
When I run CF in windowed mode it stays on top, when I have it running in fullscreen it'll minimize. Weird. I don't know if this a setting I can change or what. Hitting alt+tab seems to work for me whether or not I have something else open or not but I know what you mean. It didn't used to work unless I had teamspeak open or my browser or something open but then one day...it did. Weird, I know. Seemed that a patch randomly changed it or something.
If the problem is that you can't alt+tab out of CF without some other window open then just keep something that isn't RAM intensive open when you play. Just open notepad or w/e when you play. Maybe this doesn't help. If so I'm not sure what your problem is.
