It might not be perfect but then again, nothing is perfect. Name one gaming community that's better than this to change my mind.

I'm sorry, but I hardly consider ingame a "community". If this is what you're refering too I'd agree with you hands down, but I consider the game community it's forums and this forums is among the best I've been involved in.

That game seriously looks bad. Look at they way you hold a knife, grenade and look how the m4 looks.

They should've just polished Source and added more guns and maps.

Well there are 2 reasons:

1) Paid votes, they just wanted paying - so they really didn't vote because they believed what they were voting in.

2) Even if you wanted to vote for the sake of voting, you couldn't choose the category that you wanted to vote on since the system was set up to spam votes to random categories. So even if I wanted to vote for what I believed in that being 'Best FPS' for example it could very well be the case that my vote was used unwittingly for "Best community".

Definitely, the concept baffles me.

Or the concept might be way beyond your comprehension, since you are comparing a small amount of GP with real money. I only voted once and I got 700 GP. I would assume it's ok for me to trade with you 700 GP for 1000 USD. I would be worried if I were you, thankfully I'm not.

I was thinking the same thing, how the heck did we win best community when were full of people that hack. Plus this forum isn't really great.
