dont say something if you dont know what you are talking about.
our government may be loosing money, but the citizens are doing just fine. if somebody is struggling its their fault.
BTW congratulations, the reply with the most hate/flaming/trolling so far has been by a moderator.
Where was I wrong?
I'm curious.I have family thats were stationed on the carrier "Roosevelt"-the 1st battle group to lead attacks in Afghanistan after 9-11.In no way shape or form do I wanna see another war.But as an American I have pride for my country something to which no one can change my opinion on.We could sit here and play the game of lets degrade America ,meanwhile most of those "respectable" countries play it safe on the sidelines in most world issues.Although Im sure alot of those same countries support issues we take on with our military, they just sit on sidelines passing judgement til its their turn to bailed out by us
But in all honesty this was a lil light hearted discussion about an AMERICAN politician.Funny how outside our borders others pretend to know the smallest inner workings of us ^^
Oh I have little against America, a fine country built on solid principles.
One can debate the righteousness of pretty much every war all night, but on a forum like this its pretty fruitless since everyone think its a confrontation, while its just a discussion.
And with people convinced that everything is hunky dory, its even more pointless. -
president can't declare war without help of congress however he can send troops to a country with a certain amount of time though, congress must approve of it and must approve the funds for the war, so if congress approves war but not the funds for it, then no war, must approve both things, so chances of war are slim UNLESS we are attacked, then yes count on war, or if congress agrees on it, (slim). pointless statement is pointless.
True to a point. But thers always the "fine print" we tend to ignore or are not shown. We never, ever will really know how well we are prepared financially to do such acts.We know we got the military and the fightinmg spirit. But this was just a general non-serious discussion on 1 politicians ideas or thoughts.More likely something we'll never have to worry on. -
Ehh is this Political Science 101?War in any way is wrong, never any real winners, just suits and tie wearing people who count #'s and base it off that.No need to bash US like you like to do over this silly topic now is there?Im not a college kid,Im a grown man who seen enough in 35 years to base my opinions off that instead of something I read or something others are trying to feed me.All governments have good and bad in their decison making. If your biased against 1 thats fine.Far be it from me to tell you otherwise.I dont pretend to know the US finances as you seem too, just a reasonable person can see that we have funds availible, whether on loans or such.I dont remember any news conference that says were broke.Maybe we dont have the greatest economical situation but then again who does other then China.Long story short,if provoked Im sure we'll be ready to dive on in.Not like were gonna check our wallets 1st.And trust me Im so against war .I have family thats were stationed on the carrier "Roosevelt"-the 1st battle group to lead attacks in Afghanistan after 9-11.In no way shape or form do I wanna see another war.But as an American I have pride for my country something to which no one can change my opinion on.We could sit here and play the game of lets degrade America ,meanwhile most of those "respectable" countries play it safe on the sidelines in most world issues.Although Im sure alot of those same countries support issues we take on with our military, they just sit on sidelines passing judgement til its their turn to bailed out by us

You are the reason why people in other countries bash on the USA. It's people like you who make the average American look like a complete idiot.
So as I said before.president can't declare war without help of congress however he can send troops to a country with a certain amount of time though, congress must approve of it and must approve the funds for the war, so if congress approves war but not the funds for it, then no war, must approve both things, so chances of war are slim UNLESS we are attacked, then yes count on war, or if congress agrees on it, (slim). pointless statement is pointless.
edit: also if there is a war count on it being from the air with and spec ops, nothing like the iraq war, ALSO israel will be aiding us, they have some of the finest technology believe it or not.
Are you serious?
War on Terror was never a declared war, yet the funds kept coming from Congress. The president can pretty much do anything, call it a doctrine, do an executive order, and he is good to go. And Congress, almost always, is behind him regardless of partisan politics. -
Where was I wrong?
I'm curious.
The people actually starving arent starving because of our governments debt. it has nothing to do with that.
You live in a socialist country, if people are starving its your governments fault.
America is a (mostly) capitalist nation. if people are starving its their own fault. -

actually the % of citizens in debt is very high.
so not all citizens are doing fine
Our countries debt isnt our fault but yet we gotta pay for it. -

Oh no sir not at all.Just people can read the negative underlying remarks and where its directed at.Were talking about 1 mans ideas on going to war,not the entire nation.Righteousness?Theres no such thing as a righteous war in my mind.1 dead person means we lost period.Dont take me for an everyday kid on these boards. We can discuss w/e you like anyday of the week. But lets do it the right way and not begin by backdoor labeling of an entire nation. -

debt/starving.
just because people cant afford their new iphones anymore doesnt mean they are in poverty/starving. -

we were attacked.
just like pearl harbor, THERE are many people that believe pearl harbor happened on purpose just so we could enter the war
-
I never said it had.The people actually starving arent starving because of our governments debt. it has nothing to do with that.

But its obviously a priority decision made by the government to let 10 million people starve and buy a couple of new drones for the money that could feed them for years.
(And starvation here means going to bed without having a decent meal during the day, every day, not "can't buy the new iphone")
I'm far from carrying a "government should solve it" attitude, but thats probably because nobody is starving in my country. -

like i said, we are a capitalist nation for the most part. those ten million people should have stayed in school and actually made something out of their lives. its not that hard.
Social Darwinist <--me -
we were attacked.

Where is the correlation between this comment and your previous?
Not to be rude, but I just blew a hole in your logic.
And Ww2 is the last time the USA has ever had a declared war. Everything after is a executive order. -
debt/starving.
just because people cant afford their new iphones anymore doesnt mean they are in poverty/starving.
people that are starving dont have Iphones/Androids/etc.
People that ran up credit cards etc ya its their fault. But theres also people whos parents/siblings that pass on with debt and it gets handed on down the line.
Its not always the person who is hurtings fault.like i said, we are a capitalist nation for the most part. those ten million people should have stayed in school and actually made something out of their lives. its not that hard.
You make everything seem so simple. Yet its not. You dont know everyones story as to why they are starving. -

right there, i just didn't elaborate -

Its not always the person who is hurtings fault.
True in so many ways.
Were all victims in a way of what previous generations left onto us,both in financially and politically.Instead of correcting it so the next generation dont deal with it,we halfass things cuz its the easiest way to do so if its not gonna show up in our lifetime anyways.Pass the buck to the next guy. -

all i have to say... -
Except the public school system is ruined, and depending on individual contributors.like i said, we are a capitalist nation for the most part. those ten million people should have stayed in school and actually made something out of their lives. its not that hard.
Social Darwinist <--me
And they certainly have better things to spend their money on - themselves. -
@ Jaff-Your the reason why this will go outside its original purpose.Your a college age kid thats gonna tell some1 twice his age what to think.Get to my age then pretend to know where or what I know and came from kid.
I'm a college kid?
Wait what?
Before trying to assume that I'm in college get your facts right.
Secondly, you must be seriously not smart in your thinking if you think that Age = Knowledge. Once I'm as old as you, I will probably making three times the wealth you do, and leading discussions in some private college.
What baffles me is that people think that age correlates with wisdom or knowledge. It doesn't matter how old you are or the amount of time that has passed, but what you do in that time. Obviously you failed.
And since you "pretend" to know, I'm here to tell you just stop, and like I said before, Shut up. I don't need to pretend, as I can see that you have nothing to back up your statements. You attack my age, as if that has anything to do with this, and then claim that because of it, I have no say.
Thanks for the fallacious argument sir, You sir, have made my day. -
You make everything seem so simple. Yet its not. You dont know everyones story as to why they are starving.
step 1. Borrow money from friends to get clothes to look presentable
step 2. apply for jobs until you get one. it may take weeks. perhaps stay with a relative temporarily? just keep trying
step 3. acquire job
step 4. get paid
step 5. slowly save money. you shouldnt be starving, but you wont be very well off.
step 6. eventually get your own place. it will be crappy, but a place is a place.
step 7. do as you please. -
Except the public school system is ruined, and depending on individual contributors.
And they certainly have better things to spend their money on - themselves.
again, please dont say something you dont know about. i am currently in the public school system, and yes it is underfunded and flawed at points, but if one puts an effort in and tries as hard as he can not to be a minority he should be fine. -

No ty,some future burger flipper told me off on a fps game forums.Prove me wrong a few years down the road son.Sitting here telling me off ha-real intelligent reply to something you disagree with.Yea I see you being a "world changer" with that attitude.Kids .You havent even lived enough of your life to judge me son.Btw Dot- wouldnt some1 blatantly telling others to **** off be against the rules,or is it selective moderating as much as it is selective bias towards other nations.Just saying. If so I learned plenty of curse words in my 35 years i could use when some1 says something I dont agree with too. From discussing a topic to trolling-yea these boards are full of intelligence.Thx god I'm just a working man-life is so simpler. -
again, please dont say something you dont know about. i am currently in the public school system, and yes it is underfunded and flawed at points, but if one puts an effort in and tries as hard as he can not to be a minority he should be fine.
not be a minority?
Hmmm racism I presume? or do you mean in the context of the failing population?
Regardless of that minor point, Chub is right. I had a transfer agreement with middle and high schools, and now I'm in the top 5 percent of my class. Of course, that isn't to say that my parents aren't well off and educated, but I do see merit in his statements as I have many friends who are not of higher social class and have an intelligence that is comparable if not greater than mine. -
Looks like I was spot on with the flawed public school system. Probably a lucky guess then.again, please dont say something you dont know about. i am currently in the public school system, and yes it is underfunded and flawed at points, but if one puts an effort in and tries as hard as he can not to be a minority he should be fine.
Anyone can fight their way up, but if you're starved and homeless at age ten, you're not exactly on equal terms as the mid-lower class kids in the school competition.
Thats where the government has to step in, get him on equal terms and give him a fighting chance.
Once there, to each his own. I wouldn't pay to help others, even though I can.
I pay taxes for the government to do that.
If the government decides to spend money on digging holes and filling them up, they'll eventually be begging the rich people for money to help the youngins.
And thats disgusting, once the government reaches that level of inertia or incompetence to depend on social guilt to run the country. -

Who am I to judge?
Is it only me that has seen the irony in these comments? A future burger flipper?
If you really want, I may just prove you wrong in the next year when I have an internship at a well renowned company. Then what? Even if I am right, which I am, what will you gain from it? A personal loss? Depression? None of these would satisfy me. I only want that you stop spewing garbage, claiming that age is correlating to wisdom. -

Hey by all means go for it.My age only means I've been around long enough to make my own mind up.Unlike you who seems to think if its right in your mind the rest of us are wrong.Like I said prove me wrong.Hope your "internship" works out.Kinda like the whole "tastylimes,im a millionaire with 0% body fat myths". But gl in life.I got my own Im leading.Oh and btw,I didnt need to resort to f bombs to get any point across.Again that comes with age

it doesnt take money to do homework and pay attention in class. (and please, im mid-upper class dont get me confused with dem inferior mid-lower class people) -

in his defense, he is in high school that hopes to go to a prestigious college, and doesn't lie about it. hopes are hopes, and we all voice them.
