Gigaware controller?

I bought a gigaware usb controller assuming I would be able to use it with Crossfire, but having installed the controller and tested it (it is working) Crossfire doesn't seem to detect it. I go into the control options, left click a category, then push a button on the controller but nothing happens. I can change the controls to other keys on the laptop- but a first person shooter is useless without a controller! Is there something I'm doing wrong?

i dont think crossfire lets you use those

Then this game is useless and I'm uninstalling it.

Of course it doesnt work haha using a controller is an advantage on crossfire its not fair that you would be the only with a controller..
