Old Threads?
is it me or have mods gotten alot more strict then they use to about closing threads and removing content from the thread.
Just click last button in the bottom right corner i found multiple threads which would have been closed if people posted them now
then theres this thread which has a mod posting a screenshot of another version, and a person posting a picture of him using hacks, and the photos werent removed and the thread is still open

Is it bad that we are upholding the forum rules?
Specifically that thread... yes it was a necro, but it was following on topic to an extent.
And in regards to the oldest threads... they've died in peace. It doesn't mean we HAVE to close it. We expect that with time threads die and are no longer posted on.
Some threads can span across time, classic example is the post screenshot winning guns thread. It gets posted almost every day, and its first post is Jan 2, 2010, and is still active! Granted it was stickied though -.- -
It's kinda ironic that quite a few threads get closed for necro reasons and the staff direct everyone to the search function.
Well the thing is that we want people to be VIEWING those threads, as more than likely it contained the solution (usually in regards to the Tech Support board).
And a few times people have done a search, but haven't realized that the thread has died some time ago and just posted away on it, an example would be one of your threads Chimpzz; How to report harassment.
The next kid to post after your last one that I've linked was 3 months after it clearly was finished!
Further to add that it wan't really on-topic, as the poster thought you might have been reporting him (I don't know why, and I don't care anyways).

Please understand that we do close threads for proper reasons, be it for breaking forum rules or usually for redundancy.
What is the matter for us doing our jobs?
I shouldn't even be having to discuss this. We don't have to explain to the public every time we close a thread. It would be obvious enough from the thread itself on why we close them. -

didn't have the same amount of anonymous easily influenced visitors back then.
everyone kind of knew each other, and posting a picture of a cheat wasn't a big deal - it was just to let people know what to look for, not advertising.
thanks for bringing it back two years later though, the necessity is clear to everyone but me I guess -
well it did bringed memorys but why you did delete that thread it was the only thing that i had last from "remembering the ole days" :Oproblem solved.

(i know you must be stricted but atleast you could just leave that memory on cf before )
(also giggle when he was mod he was briliant but now idk if he loves me)
