No honorable soldier ribbon, yet back hacking again?
When I report hackers I often check their profile. I do this to see if they've been banned before (honorable soldier ribbon) and also to see what guns they have to get an idea of how much of a loss having their account banned will be. It's not very satisfying to report a smiley face with nothing but an m16 and an m700. I like to get the LTs and captains with a few crate guns or whatever.
However, I notice, more often then not, they have no honorable soldier ribbon, presumably because they've hacked before and have been reported. Yet there they are...back online...hacking...AGAIN.
Why do these swine get their accounts back? They just go and hack again and it sends a message to all people who are considering hacking that it's no big deal and they'll get their account back anyway.
What I want to know is: What is the policy on banning hackers? Do they get a week ban for the first offense? A two week ban? Does the fact they have bought zp affect how much of a ban they'll get?
A lot of people claim that if you buy zp you won't get banned and I've heard several MODs on this forum deny this up and down. But I'm not sure I buy it.

Because. ive been banned 3 days for glitching/ (jumping on a roof rofl)...calling chinese people names even though chinese said all americans suck./ ive never hacked. Just cause some 1 doesent have there honnrable soldier ribbon doesent mean they hacked. it just means the mods are sometimes dumb* -
People can be banned for many reason that are not permanent bans. A few examples like the guy above posted are for glitch or insulting and swearing or just getting a charge back on ZP..... So just because a hack doesnt have a honourable soldier ribbon dont presume he has been banned for hacking before.

1. MOD's dont ban.
2. Insulting ingame to a certain level = Ban (3 Day)
3. Glitching = Ban (3 day. Goes higher the more you do it)
3. You admitted to 2 and 3. What roof did you glitch up to?
4. What did you say to them?

Not all bans are permanent. (with regards to the loss of the honorable soldier ribbon)
It is possible that the person was banned for other account related problems. Anything from payment (chargebacks) to account sharing of all types can result in bans that may have been permanently previous but were turned to either temp or opened up after the proper administration was performed on an account.
And as mentioned any breaking of the game rules like glitching or excessive language or negative behavior can all result in bans issued by us which are not permanent and often judged on based on evidence/severity/investigation/history etc.
Please note however that while the auto ban system increments. The total play time for someone who insists on continuing to hack the game is really less than a few minutes in between bans. The auto system will ban and kick people almost immediately upon detection.
And as always, we do read and review the reports that come in. While tedious and incredibly time-consuming for our team, bans issued from these reports are permanent for the accounts. We apologize that it seems like we don't ban people, but please know we issue a ton of bans daily to try and discourage and reduce the number of hackers that are in the game. -
Obviously this is easier said than done, but the honorable solider ribbon should be only for those that have not been banned for hacking.
Also, I don't really understand the idea that x-trap gives out temp bans (which increment) leading to a perm ban, but reported players will get a perm ban the first time. I know x-trap isn't yours to deal with, but it would be good to include the replay at the end of the game of the hacker. Then his account will be flagged by x-trap and could be reviewed by someone (similar to a report). -

I am aware that accounts can lose their honorable soldier ribbon and be banned temporarily for reasons other then hacking. I just assumed, I guess, that if I'm reporting an obvious hacker and he doesn't have his honorable soldier ribbon that he more then likely lost it for hacking on another occasion.
I am glad to hear that when I upload a replay the hacker's account gets a permanent ban. Especially when I report a higher ranked one. I try to play more in Delta server so as to at least eliminate the hackers below Staff Sergeant. That way when a hacker manages to level up enough to get in there I'll report them and it'll be that much more time before they can just come back to Delta with their new smiley face account.

my main account got banned for 15 days and 3 days later when i logged in after sending in a support ticket explaining how i might have got banned because my internet is bad and after i D/C i get banned temp... for ex. my internet crashes and i log in and i got banned for 7 days but i could log in durring that 7 day ban....
as i was saying, i sent in a support ticket saying thats what happened ( after i bought 20k ZP and D/Ced) on the xmas patch... i got banned 15 days then i looked at my support ticket and they changed it to perm.

Last time I DC'ed while buying ZP because of Internet failure nothing happened, just relog and ZP was there. Hack less, or more, if you have more accounts to get banned. Quit this s.hit, really... -

I know. But if I find a hacker in game and look his profile up and he doesn't have the ribbon I think it's an easy assumption that they lost it for hacking. Rather then stealing their mommy's credit cards and owing z8 backpay or w/e. Not saying they couldn't have lost it for something else. Just that they probably didn't. But now we know reported hackers get permabans because Iceman and Saidin cleared it up.Just because they don't have the honorable ribbon, doesn't mean they hack. Just because they are playing on big ranks, doesn't mean its theirs. Just because they are Trainees, doesn't mean they are not good to get reported.

Well, I couldn't find a thread with the answer I was looking for and this was actually a fruitful attempt as I got the answer I was after. I always search first but often have no luck finding what I'm looking for. Thanks for flooding this thread with one of the pointless posts you mentioned. Good jorb.

I think most of us who do report hackers want to see that there being viewed so maybe instead of just sending us a automated message in the ticket leave the ticket open and if it's found that this person is hacking then u guys can say your report has been viewed and we are taking action. Now I think one of the GMs has told me before you can't tell us what happens to these guys whether there banned or not and if that's the case then I understand. But like I said it will make a ton of people happy if there at least told that there report has been viewed.

btw xtrap bans temporary cuz there is finally no media wich showing wich cheats actual scrub use, they autoban on different bit size or event logs ... whatever it was not bypassed through. -
