linux issues

question my fps has been horrible since i put widows 7 on my outdated computer that was made for xp should I put xp back on my computer for a better fps or is there a way to tweak windows 7 into being lighter anyone know anything about running cf in XFCE (ubuntu linux) is there a way to make it a tar.gz so i can run it ? or do i have to emulate windows with a binary layer (wine makes me lag) i've been wanting to go linux on my desktop but cf wont run in linux is there a linux version that you guys know about?
