So, basically you want a semi-automatic M16? Because there's not much difference between them.
The Ar 15 Is Not The Same As The M16
Thats Like Saying The M16a2 Is The Same As The M16a3 Just Because They Have The Same Manufacturer (Colt Industries)

The Ar15 Is More Like A Powerful Version Of The M4The M16 IS the more powerful version of the M4. Or rather, the M4 is a smaller and weaker version of the M16, designed for urban use.
But if you don't believe me that the AR-15 is virtually the same as a semi-automatic M16, then compare them yourself. Their specifications are almost identical, as are their looks. The only real difference is that the AR-15 is mainly designed for civilian use, rather than military. Therefore it has been altered internally, so that it can't use the M16's full-automatic firing system. -

Anyways , It Wont Be Semi Auto As This Is Crossfire , But It Would Be A Nice Addition , It Wouldnt Make Much Of A Difference -
Well, You Put Me In A Tight Corner
Anyways , It Wont Be Semi Auto As This Is Crossfire , But It Would Be A Nice Addition , It Wouldnt Make Much Of A DifferenceCrossfire's idea of semi-automatic is lowering automatic fire to a third or less of that of an assault rifle. This is because there has to be a distinctive difference between semi-automatic sniper rifles and bolt action sniper rifles. And if they were to make semi-automatic rifles true semi-automatic rifles, the would have to do the same for bolt action rifles. And bolt action rifles have to load each round manually, thereby require the player to push a separate button to do so, slowing down the pace of sniping with bolt action rifles considerably, and giving automatic rifles an overpowering advantage.
So when I say "semi-automatic", I mean like the PSG-1 or VSK-94 is. -

The AR-15 is a very standard weapon much like the M16. Don't believe me? My bro had assembled an AR-15 once and if I didn't know better, I'd say it's an M4 or an M16... Also, power n such isn't that major of a difference because he barrel and mag can be adjusted to certain calibers.. Basically, this would be a repeat gun since we already have similar weapons.

It might be that way in real life, but in Crossfire the M4A1 is actually more powerful than the M16. -
I though that their power was the same, but the M16 had more recoil in CF.
The M4A1 deals 4 more damage per shot , has higher dps , full to empty mag in the same time and they both have the same headshot damageM16

...Why would i want a (basically) semi-automatic M16? Even with the nice attachments I'd still rather use a SR-25...And that hasn't been implemented. And even if it wouldn't be classified as a sniper, id still use an M4 or one of the various models. (And By models i mean M4 Custom Repaints and M4 silver repaints) Because there fully automatic.
And USUALLY this is the way it works: More bullets(shot accurately of course)= More Damage
This weapon kind of reminds me of the Winchester Scoped in a way, Its a great idea...in theory...rather than practicality(for most people).
Now...if it was fitted for the .50 Beowulf rounds THEN Id buy it in a heartbeat. But that's highly unlikely even if this is implemented.
