You would have a lower ping, but I don't know why you'd want to play in CF LA...

Probably not.

It depends on:

- distance from you and the servers
- internet speed
- copper wires

look at the south pacific ocean, theres nothing across it. even if you were geographically closer it would still be worse ping when you combine the fact that there are no cables going from new zealand/australia to south america, and infrastructure is worse in south america

Southern Cross and Pacific Fibre goes to west coast, from there to PAC, then SAC, all the way around SA to Sao Paolo where I guess there is a server.
From SAC to the server in Sao Paolo the infrastructure is bound to be weak though, since Brazil is an underdeveloped hole.

The bird route is longer, as is the connection route, hence higher ping.
Could be lower if Brazil wasn't underdeveloped.


To LA (where our West Coast server is) is pretty much fiber all the way (assuming the server isn't sitting in someones basement).

You're still gonna get high ping, but not AS high.



Hawaii would be great for aussies and NZ but I doubt there is any real financial incentive - you people buy ZP and play the game without a Hawaii server thus far.
And of course, while I know nothing about Hawaii, I'd imagine they're not very cutting edge in terms of uptime and net infrastructure in general.
Not an ideal place to place a datacenter.
