What happened to Echo 8?
K Ive been playing CF about 2 years now. Well I came back today to play in E8, and I get knifers in sniping matches and a clan called #dreamteam that apparently has a reputation fro being good, but rumors their clan uses chams/bots. Seriously guys, what happened to the good old E8?

Everyone accuses everyone of cheats because xtrap is non-reliant. Back in the day people cheated, its the same. ESG a new league coming out January is supposed to have the best AC this game has seen. When that days comes, the cheaters will fall. And knifers? Hell people do that all the time.

usually either WCG rules or WOGL season 1 rules, as everyone uses silvers and camo's still.
however its not as good as it used to be so you will have some annoying people with non league weaponry.
Ak camo and silver are fine ppl dont really care, its the silenced weapons that make people mad/rage quit. -

ak camo is really easy though
if it was league allowed id used it ALL the time because its just that easy but that's kind of hypocritical of me as the k2 is allowed but i consider the k2 a slow scar light lol so. i thought the silenced weapons were ok with the execption of the custom and other custom variations, but i think it was stupid to ban the ak camo and silver but allow the k2 that gun is just ....... lol. explains why carbon cried when they couldn't use it lol. to add to the list the tar, i call the tar the "tar light" lol. -
I hope they add the new FireWall to every game though. Would really help telling whose legit and not.
well hopefully if ESG's anti cheat is any good we can use it full time. but i actually dont know how they would install it onto the system etc as most of the time we just download it ourselves and use it. lol -

The vast, VAST majority of people who play in Echo 8, scrims and pubs, cannot be considered to be part of the competitive community.
What is known as the "competitive community" to the general public is only partially made up of actual competitive players. -

Anyways, Echo 8 went downhill from when it was in all of it's glory, I guess good things don't last forever.

Echo 8 can only be considered to be at a high point, unless you're stupid and actually think that the public rooms in it can be considered. -

I never said they were. You making statements like "e8 is bad nao guiz" says that either
a) you think that the state of public games in Echo 8 has anything to do with the state of Echo 8
or b) you think that the quality of the general competitive community (aka what the public conceives to be the competitive community) has any effect on the state of Echo 8.

No one can actually explain what Echo 8 is. It WAS a selected channel that was chosen by most of the community to play PUG's that used competitive (mainly WOGL [WEM]) rules. Back then, it was a decent experience of where players who wanted a different play style, and chat with others for fun. Now, it's full of "laggers" and trash talkers who think that if they top frag in a match or two they would gain a little bit of reputation.
Just my input, but there is a lot of people who think differently. -

Echo 8 was originally Bravo 8/Bravo 10. During closed beta, when people would set up scrims over xFire, the channels that people began to make them in by default were Bravo 8/10. The more people starting to play this game competitively, the more scrims were played, and making games in Bravo 8 after getting a scrim over xFire became a habit. As more channel were released and more people started playing CF, the community moved down the channel list. Foxtrot 8 was never used due to the odd reg many felt on the Foxtrot server. Due to the amount of people playing in Echo 8, and the brief switch to the clan server and back, people have all but abandon xFire as a way to find scrims, and are now able to simply spam "5v5" in the channel lobby.
The only thing that Echo 8 has in common with the competitive community is that it relies on people scrimming in it to be considered anything special.
Echo 8 is a system that players use for getting scrims. Nothing more, nothing less.

i also remeber the bravo server scrims lawl, then there was that awkward transition... telling the rest of the kids we're moving servers lol

last scrim from bravo i can remember was with some friends i made against some "css players" then one of them was shooting me through a wall. lol some guy called holyhannah or something. surprised i can remember any of it i can barely remember what i did last week let alone 2-3 years ago jeez. -
