Cannot open shader file

God... jeezus lots of bumps there... almost broke a leg there
.
Can you recall in detail every instance of each "Send Error Report". Everything prior to receiving it.
?ok, that's comedy right there lol
i'm going to suggest a few things, i don't know if they'll help or not.
make sure that your graphics card/flash/flash player/adobe reader softwares are all updated these have significant value in running this game for some unknown reason.
if that doesn't help try uninstalling crossfire AND make sure you also delete out all of the crossfire related folders.
make sure you have no programs running in the background that can be causing this issue, also make sure your antivirus and pc firewalls are allowing crossfire through. It is possible that one of your background programs is causing all of your issues.
Also you might want to defragment, that tends to have an effect on your computer being able to access your files faster, if your pc cannot access files fast enough it will pop up errors left and right.
I'll try updating my video card, that could be the problem Thanks for the suggestion. Flash players and adobe should have nothing to do with Cross Fire.
I've already tried redownloading then uninstalling and re-installing, if this doesn't work I'll try deleting the necessary Cross Fire folder and re-installing.
My antivirus isn't the issue, I added the Cross Fire folder to the exceptions list.
Accessing files shouldn't be a problem, my computer is fairly new & I have a decent harddrive & whatnot. -
you may think they have nothing to do with crossfire, but i couldnt run crossfire or hardly any programs without them on my pc. always with the errors poppin up, took me freakin 4 hours of tinkering before i installed flash and adobe, and bam everything worked, haven't had a problem since.

z8Games,
The Christmas patch unfortunately did not fix the issue. I am still getting the same error message. The issue only seems to affect Windows 7 x64 (quad-core) users. Is anybody else still constantly crashing in the lobby and getting the "cannot open shader file" message? -
Updated my Radeon HD 6950 video card with the newest driver available, still having this issue.
It should be noted this happens a lot when I scroll up or down via the mouse wheel or the scroll thing on the side of the window, when looking through a channel for a room.
I'll try redownloading and re-installing once again. -
I think that the .dmp files in the Report folder in the Z8Games folder are the results from these "Send error report" messages.
Maybe start a support ticket with these wrapped up in a .zip or .rar folder and a pretty bow on top?
Just an out-of-the-box suggestion

Interesting, why do you think that? -
When I exit a game to the lobby, the moment I hit the scroll button on my mouse the game crashes.
I got this "cannot load shader file" as well, once the Crossfire window went small with the "send error report" window popping up simultaneously, but the game was still going on in the background. The game was on the 9th round so I figured I'd just sit there and let it finish so the GP and EXP would register to my account, well when the game ended I got the "cannot load shader file" window. -
Have you gotten in contact with Support? Maybe they have a list of reasons on how this particular error happens... that is if they actually know what they're doing
No, this is the technical support section so they should have paid staff helping out people here as well, but they don't

Cannot open shader file
This issue is still happening to me too! I am also Windows 7 (64-bit). I have opened two support tickets. First ticket, directed me here. Second ticket, I got an obviously automated response that did not address my issue. I've done about 8 reinstalls now. I've tried everything to fix this issue. Nothing works. This issue has been going on too long. This is a game breaker. -

I redownloaded and reinstalled, but it keeps happening. I'm using Windows 7 professional 64-bit and I am running Cross Fire as an administrator.
Anybody know how to fix this? Thanks.
SOME of these ppl must be making in up.. Because Im running the CF on the same program and i dont get that

Thanks for trying to help.
But as you should have seen from the numerous amount of posts on the forums regarding this issue, this doesn't have anything to do with out-of-date software. This is simply just another bug that the developers managed introduce into crossfire.
Here's a thread I opened with a detailed description and repro steps. http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=190650 If you experience anything differently or have corrections, let me know there.
CrossFire is probably the most buggy and brittle (in the sense of, constantly breaks) piece of software on the market today. Not even the fact that gameplay is free is an excuse for that. I'm sending a support ticket to Z8Games now, though I doubt much good will come of it. Meanwhile I'm trying out the alternative shader files that someone shared. IF YOU TRY THESE - BACKUP THE ORIGINALS FIRST. -

Ok i found everything out about this error/and the shader files who's missing.
You guy's have downloaded the zyan-develoment hack. And it will give you error and block the shader folder so it don't get detected. you can't do somthing with it becouse you can't download the old version to deacrivate it!
