If you switch weapons, you stop defusing the bomb.

The question he is asking is how can some people switch weapons while still defusing the bomb...

While defusing the bomb without letting go of E. Press ESC, it might work if you do it quickly enough. The ESC key will automatically hold down the E and you can release it. Then you can switch weapons using 1,2,3,4 or Q.

Lol.. Just press ESC while defusing then press 1,2,3,4,5 and use the scroll wheel. It's useless anyway.

It doesn't make it faster, but it does confuse people on both sides who don't realize the defuse is still going on. A BL player may not attack, and the GR players will be spamming "press EEEEEEEEEEE".
