not all good players are hackers

some people, and especially those who play for high ranked clans, think that just because they may lose sometimes that the players who beat them are cheaters. there is far too much accusing going on in this game and not everyone is a hacker. some people may own better equipment, or have a better ping to the server, or maybe just having a good game for their own standards, or maybe these people have purchased ZP and have armour or eq of the such. all these people saying that they have proof for no reason, when all they are doing is harassing good gamers is getting outrageous. hacking is a serious problem and accusing and harassing is just as bad. please play fair in all aspects of the game.

  • for every legit skilled player there are 10 hackers
  • Your numbers are whack because you don't know any numbers.

I'd have to say legit players in general outnumber the hackers. It's hard to tell apart a person hacking-sneakily/smartly/cleverly or a skilled person, because the best hackers won't be obvious. They won't make it obvious they're chamming, grab a few deaths here and there to avoid suspicion, et cetera.

Aimbots are for hackers that are looking to get banned. You can't hide an aimbot.

It's pretty easy to spot an aimbotter or chammer in a game because they're stupid. Just today, I was playing Fortress and got shot through the floor. Shooting through the second floor and killing people in the first floor. And he claims he wasn't chamming. Like claiming that while being so obvious helps.

Or the time I was sneaking around on Monaco and the moment I pop my head up I get headshot. Chammer was following me with his sniper scope.

Or the time someone complained I was aimbotting in a Train Pistol match and then proceeded to aimbot and **** everyone off. I guess it was a good thing he was on our team that second round.

I've been rambling =.=. Anyways, you can't know for sure any numbers, is all I can say. But I certainly see a lot more legit players than hackers (albeit a lot of sucky legit players).

There is a way that aimbot doesn't look obvious, but those hackers still have a long way to go to the point what i mean...
anyway, at every game i come in, i get acussed for hacker... and more than 50% i get kicked. There is no option to tell your story to them about good players, because they won't listen anyways. They just ignore you and 10 seconds later you are kicked out of the room.

good luck with this thread, but it is a fail statement
  • Well to my knowledge (Which isn't much, mind you), the only way aimbot wouldn't be obvious if you were using a single shot weapon like a sniper. The way I understand, aimbot works whenever you shoot, so if you're spraying with an automatic weapon, you can't stop as soon as the guy in front of you is dead, and you inadvertently start spinning.

Like sure, I've spun a few times out of my own volition because someone was shooting my BEhind or because I heard footsteps and no ally on the minimap, but there gets a point where it's obvious, most especially with a non-sniper.

EDIT: What I find funny though is that legit players are kicked far more often for accusations of hacking than actual hackers are (or script kiddies if you want to be a nazi on me). It's probably partly because people are paranoid about hacking but here are more legit players than hackers by quite a bit, which results in good intentions (or bad if they're doing it because they just want the guy killing them to get kicked) having negative effects, which leads to part two, people who kick other people for dominating them just because they suck or if not sucking, the other person is just plain better than them.

Or just being lucky. I was playing a Ship TDM and one guy with an M4 killed me 10 times in a row with headshots (Though not all those deaths were in a row, over the course of the match, every time he killed me it was by a headshot). Now, he didn't always headshot, and I could tell he was a good player, but when it came to me (and me in particular), it was always a headshot.

This can be attributed to my big and magnetic head. In any fps I play, I have the tendency to get shot through the head very often. It's gotten so bad that these days I start counting. I average 50-60% deaths by headshot every game, and in some bad cases 70-80%. Ever had someone in your sights and about to be killed when their spray headshots you and you end up dying? Yeah, that happens to me more than you can ever imagine. I'm just reduced to complaining about my bad luck here, and I tell you, my bad luck is extraordinary.

My computer came broken, though I never realized it until much later after the warranty expired (I thought it was just because I was playing graphically-intensive games). My luckiest day (usually) is on Friday the 13th. Whenever I play an MMO I get **** drops. All the time. When I roll crates (zp and gp) I get 1 spray and 2 100 gps (1000 if its zp crate) (Though this probably happens a lot to a lot of other people too xD).
  • lol. not all good players are hackers. But of the 5 posters in this thread, I bet 4 are, maybe even 5
  • lol. not all good players are hackers. But of the 5 posters in this thread, I bet 4 are, maybe even 5

    Some might be, some aren't.

What I tend to think is key, is information. For example, Devourz is in a clan or has been in clans that play on ESL. When you participate in ESL, you may assume the player is 100% legit. Cause if he or she wasn't, he/she wouldn't last one day on ESL.

When you ask or explain you're #x rated on ESL, people mostly don't even know what ESL is. That's why information is crucial to see whether or not you can trust a person.
  • All good players in this game are hackers, get used to it.

    It's the crossfire way.
  • lol. not all good players are hackers. But of the 5 posters in this thread, I bet 4 are, maybe even 5

First off, there were only 4 posters, since I made 2 posts. Second, you should stop and think before making accusations like that. Judge not a book by its cover. Without knowing someone you can't just go around saying "he probably hacks".

By your logic, you probably hack, since you posted in the thread and make poster number 5. Congratulations.
  • I can't play a single game of ghost without my clan otherwise I get a few kills and already start getting called haccks...It's real annoying when I'm 100% not haccking and a chammer or aimbot come in a room and people leave him just so they can win and because they think you have a haccker on your team so they just leave them to hacck..the vote system does not work at all, too easy to kick the right guy and too hard to kick the hacckers
  • Sadly there is a problem with hacking in any game that is on the net. I happily believe also that hacking helps improve the standards in which we try to resolve the hacking situation. In order to better protect ourselves we have to be more understanding of the problems. The people who make these hacks do it for many different reasons, some to make money, some for the fame of making the best hack, and some just to see if it can be done. Making a specific server for people to try these things has worked in some games i have played in the past. Give them a forum to play in and not worry about banning. Usually in turn this creates a cleaner environment for the rest of the community. Of course this is ONLY because no anti cheat will ever be 100% protective.
Now that being said i move on to nProtect.
    Its a waste of time.
I play other games that also use this anti cheat technology and its CATASTROPHIC FAIL.
it just plain sucks. in order to improve the level of protection of paying players, protecting us by using an anti cheat that actually does something is great idea.
(I wonder if knowingly letting us be hacked is worthy of a class action law suit?)
I know i spend a lot of money in this game, and so do my friends. Well good luck to all and remember, if you can get the world to F11, then we might be saved by ourselves!

Namedrop a few games that actually spend money to let people hack it.

On topic: Played too many botting and chamming butter- and platinumsticks to be positive regarding the hacker issue.
(All of which reported - none of which banned. I dare to wonder why.)
  • ...I guess all you guys who are pros should just get used to being called hackers, chamers etc...I mean I have a KD of like 0.8 and I even get called a hacker and get kicked from time to time...makes me laugh anyways :P

I'm gonna go with "cool story bro" on this one.

    Wrong forum. Do over.
  • Me Personaly have been playing games online for 13 years and over the years have no problem telling the difference between a skilled player and a hacker. I also have a really Fast Computer as in on a bad Day i get like 140 to 160 fps and for those of you dont know if you have a fast computer people with less fast computers will see you a few seconds after you come around the corner, but in turn they will see you longer after you are behind the wall. So in other words due to my computers speed if you are already shooting at me when i come around a corner chances are your hacking. Because my computer right now has everything top of the line best you can get(I should know i built it)
It will last for the next 5 years in games without any upgrades. So If someone gets a jump on me chances are they hack beyond belive. Seeing as most people who play this game get it for free and dont want to have to pay for a game.

    lol @ dot.

Anyway, you can have a superduper 16GHz computer, but it won't matter. If you have a ping of 300, it's still going to be the same, only this time its YOU that is lagging, even if you have a top of the line PC.

Just thought I'd add that to your little statement. A good and stable connection is key in FPS gaming.
  • just wondering about people accusing someone for no special reason. In a GM match, i saw a noob accusing half GR team to hack, while having absolutely 0 evidence and claiming to be UBER Pro lols.
I tell the cryers, that they can get me banned if its that obvious that I hack. They reply "-censored-" <- sometimes I just wonder if there are some nerds out there, who enjoy accusing people more than actually playing the game
All good players in this game are hackers, get used to it.
    Sad but true
  • Lol at the kids that still think "high ranked clans" mean anything.

Rank means nothing, both clan rank AND player rank. Skill trumps clan rank or "farming" rank any day. From my experience being in #2 and then another clan that went from 10,000ish to #23, "high ranked clans" only REALLY mean a couple of things:

1.) you attract more idiots that think being in a high rank clan makes them "skilled" or "pro"
2.) you attract hackers that think being in a "high ranked clan" will hide the fact they are blatantly walling.
3.) you will get called a hacker by everyone else because "all high ranked clans hack".

This community is inundated with... people that received the short end of the stick when it comes to common sense, if you get what I mean. The best thing to do is:

1.) Don't make a forum topic about being called a "hacker" or accusing in general...
2.) Get involved with or get to know some of the people that have been proven to be legit and/or respectable and mature players. They will more than likely kick your butt however, so if you hate dying, and rely on pubs, don't play an FPS :D

You would steal my cookies, wouldn't you? You greedy greedy man you.
  • I'm not greedy at all. I'm a man of the people.

Look at all the work I've done on my soundpack. I've teamviewed like 7 people to set it up! :O
  • There are alot of hackers, but that doesnt mean every person that has the ACE or that is doing really well is a hacker. btw, thats y i play less of GM now a days, ppl call me hacker when im not.
  • for each hacker there are 15 noobs who kick legit people out of games
  • We should rephrase the subject line.

"All good players are not hackers."

Hacking immediatly makes you a bad player. All the skill in the world, maybe...but then you strapped on the training wheels to make things uber-easy.

I've never understood the point, actually. Isn't it boring to farm? Isn't it boring to glitch a wall and shoot at people who then can't touch you? Isn't it boring to be able to see where everyone is and not try to be tactical in any way, shape, or form?

It's one thing to "hack" your PS2 game with a GameShark so you can have all the guns handy when you play offline. Because the only person effected is you. But hacking an online game where there are tons of people...For, what? To stroke your ego? "i haz 2 mbillinion kill and no deths" Wow...cool? You're a nobody. Who cares? Heck, we're ALL nobodies, in the end. I play this game not to make a name for myself, but to see what I can do against other players. With my own ability and skill, not with some program that would ruin the game.

But...there you go, I guess. Proof that most of the planet wants the easy way out.

This is why I play with the Charon guys. Bunch of forumers, bunch of cool people, I enjoy hanging with them. I run my own little three-man clan, but I normally look to play with those guys when I can. Roshambo is not even big enough for scrims, but we enjoy beating up on the "big names" as well. I've actually seen a few rounds of big name clans playing the "Who the hell are you, I've never heard of you, I'm from So-and-So so I'll beast mode all over you," ....aaaaaand then they prove to be realitively easy. There are some clans I do respect as being very hard fights, but most are only "ranked" because they have 100 people who play too much. So, y'know...

  • Yum, 1v1!
I'm called a hacker 9/10 games I play, hence is why i took a break.
