Old client, download an updated version.

Idk what is going on. but I click on crossfire, it patch installed. I played a match, I dced, got an xtrap error. now when I click on crossfire to start it, I hit start and it says that "You have an old client. Please download an updated version." I uninstalled, reinstalled 3 times and even downloaded the new installer, which won't work. Help?
