Posts I've posted in other threads about this.At 5 meters,
Socom does 37-38 damage.
Deagle does 61 damage.
At 15 Meters,
Socom does 34 damage.
Deagle does 54-55 damage.
At 30 meters,
Socom does 30 damage.
Deagle does 44 damage.
Damage per bullet, Deagle wins.
RPS,
Socom can fire at 8 rounds per second max.
Deagle can fire at 4 rounds per second max.
Socom wins.
Recoil,
From what I can tell, they have the same recoil per bullet.
Tie.
Ammo,
Socom 13/39
Deagle 7/35.
Socom wins.
The Deagle is nearly always a 2-3 hit kill at most ranges. Socom is a 3-4 hit kill.
The Socom needs to be fired at least at 6 rounds per second before it matches the Deagles DPS. But at that rate or higher the recoil will make its shots spread to far for anything but close quarter combat, at long ranges you need to fire slower to keep accuracy. But at slower rates the Deagle beats it.
If the Socom had less recoil it would be better then Deagle.
The deagle stops being a 2 hit kill at around 24 meters, the Socom stops being a 3 hit kill at around 20 meters. To give a idea of the range, 30 meters is about the bottom of the ramp in GR spawn in Lab to the entrance of B site from GR spawn.

Godsgunman's guide list the damage to the body parts at different ranges, the fire rate or RPS, and the ammo. I helped with data collection for the guide.
And for the recoil, I own both and have been using them. The Socoms recoil kills it.The MK23 barely loses to the Deagle at close range and easily loses at medium and long range. The Deagle does on average 50% more damage then the MK23 per bullet well only shooting at 2/3rds the the speed.
The only advantage the MK23 has is more ammo but it takes more ammo to kill with so that advantage is pretty much neutralized.
They also have about the same recoil per bullet so the Slightly faster firing rate of the MK23 makes it less accurate at full speed and if you slow down the fire rate to make it more accurate you might as well use the Deagle instead.Deagle.
Deagle does 62 damage within 5 meters, 44 damage at 30 meters.
MK23 does 38 within 5 meters, 30 damage at 30 meters.
Deagle can fire 4.7 rounds a second.
MK23 can fire 7.2 rounds a second.
Deagle has 7/35 Ammo.
MK23 has 13/39 Ammo.
They have the same recoil per bullet.
In order to come close to Deagles DPS, MK23 needs to be fired at max RPS. But the recoil will start throwing the aim off quite a bit at that rate. To stay accurate beyond close range you need to slow down to the Deagles RPS, But if your firing as slow as a Deagle you might as well get the Deagle.
Deagle wins at medium and long range easy, well barely winning at close range.

Deagle beats MK23 Socom. -
if you're looking for the sniper's best friend, the desert eagle for sure, for any other gun sets, i'd take the mk23, since you don't really need to down the player with only one hit if you already hit him some times, so the low power won't matter.
Also the mk23 S boasts a low recoil medium power with 13 rounds, wich is enough to secure at least 2 kills, the desert eagle tough, can secure 3 kills in one mag but it brings recoil to the table :x
But hell, the mk23 S. is my personal favourite, isn't the best, but it feels confortable to me...
Only 2 kills are guaranteed. :rolleyes:
