In order of skill and acceptability.
1. Knife - Default classic weapon, weapon needing the most skill and earns the most respect for its use if done well because of its difficulty.
2. Axe - More powerful, but heavier and slower than the knife with a bit more range. Generally the preferred weapon for most players as it still is considered balanced by most.
3. Katana - With its right click ability giving it 1 hit capabilities, its lack of speed is a major handicap to most. Doing so as anything but a Ghost reduces movement also. It's also balanced by its inability to kill one shot to the head with the slash, unlike the Axe.
4. Kris - A hybrid weapon.* Also almost as light as the knife. The dual capabilities of being essentially both as powerful as the axe and katana makes this weapon generally less skillful to most people. It's range is about the same as a katana. However, its right click thrust attack requires some actual aim and timing to hit the foes.
5. Shovel - Essentially the same as the katana in stats except possibly being lighter, however, what makes the shovel one of the most despised weapons is due to its large range, horizontal power attack and the off putting animation.
6. Kukri - Another hybrid weapon. However, unlike the Kris, this one benefits from the horizontal attack like the shovel. The added skill lessening factor to this weapon for most GM'ers is that it's a silent killer. Meaning it has no sound up until the actual landing of the blow, meaning unless they miss, you won't hear the attack until you die. The added fact that its actual attack is alot quieter alone makes it formidable.
I have not had the chance to test out the Nightmare blade, however from the few times I've seen it used, it could probably match the Kukri. -

Is the Kukri really that OP. Never tried it before, but sounds crazy  -
To clear it up, Kukri is a one hitter like an Axe, and has the power and horizontal attack capability of the Shovel.
Axe+Shovel=Kukri
Kukri is the "nightmare" of Nightmare Blade.
Yea, kukri is the only "beast" melee. I used all melee weapons cause I like GM. Kukri is way too OP. Stopped using it for this reason.
