Anything creative soundblaster is good.
And you literally just stick it in a PCI or PCI e x1 socket and install the drivers.
That's it. -
Actually, the point of myself making this thread is for improving my gameplay in GM, which is definitely related to CF, which is also why this wasn't moved. I double post because the Edit button won't show up when I'm on my iPod, though it's fine when I'm on my desktop.
Are you saying that I'm posting on this forum soley for post count? Because I'm not. If you want to talk about fast ways of getting your post count up, look at yourself. I think I've told you the other day that the last I saw you maybe 2 months ago, you had roughly 300 posts. Now look at your post count.
I would appreciate it if you didn't look down on me like you're some kind of upperclassman on these forums.
Edit: @ nj's OT comment: If you haven't noticed, I've directed this thread at Rory and Giggle to hear why they're buying the X12's. I already know that the specs of the X12's are better than those of the X11, I wouldn't make a thread asking a question if I already had what I was looking for, would I? -
GodsMarksman wrote: »Don't decent soundcards cost $200 ish? X) There goes my budget.
Decent ones don't cost near that much, the only ones that are as expensive as that are the ones with 16.1 sound, and their own CPU and graphics accelerators built in... Such as mine ;D
But nah, literally any Creative SB card, preferably an X-Fi will do wonders, however I was chatting with Hawk and Moof last night on Moomble, and they were messing around with their Realtek on-board options, and there seems to be a fair bit of decent customisation options on there. Obviously the pure sound quality won't be as good, but you can at least tune it to your needs.
It's all about you not about the fancy things you buy.
But you're a ZP whore, hush

Turtle's are pretty overrated in my opinion... I have tried both of those X11 and X12, they're both "pretty" low price headsets, since they cost 60€ here in Finland. I'd say you can buy Fatal1tys with 30€ and they offer the same quality but in lower price... But thats just my opinion.

I have got 30/5 with no sound in GM
and 48/2 with my 5euro headphones.

Rofl, getting 30-5 is nothing to brag about, even with no sound it's very possible, but I would like to see a SS of that 48-2 though. Pubs are pubs. No honestly, getting a score like that in the ABC servers are easy. Try GM in E8 where Signature spams their Kukri and Kris, and those random Panthers like Night and 5th come in like a boss and stomp.
@Cookz, link me to a good soundcard for CF nao! -

Turtlebeach headsets.
X12

X11

They're not worth buying really, you can get same quality or even better with cheaper. Turtles are just brand.
For an example:
X12,X11 and Siberia v2 cost all the same (60$), BUT Siberia v2 gives 18 - 28 000hz instead of 20 - 20 000hz X12 gives or 30 - 20 000hz that x11 gives. Siberia v2 has also better ergonomics, they feel like air when you wear them and weigh nothing. Also the mic is better than in Turtlebeach.
Aslong as your PC gamer don't go for Turtles, they are for consoles. -

Are Sennheisers really that good?
Your best chance of getting a decent opinion out of anyone's mouth would to actually go to youtube and search up customer reviews than slouch around waiting for people's opinions here.
Just pointing it out :l -

Well, CF is almost never mentioned in those reviews, so I would rather ask my fellow forumers directly instead. -

Sennheisers are pretty good. I have the HD 280 Pros. I use it for everything right now. From CF [GM/SnD/CW(No Mic)] to music.
Its a good quality brand that pretty trust worthy. I have 2 of their headsets :P
Not sure about their PC gaming headsets, but their ones used for travelling looks awesome.

So If I told you that the Sennheisers were actually a total waste of money and very fragile, you would believe me?
I'd have trolled you yesterday, but my Sennheiser headset's left side broke today, after 6 months of music/gaming -
After almost 2 years of travelling all over the place with me, my X11s are still going strong as ever.MoMosaysNo wrote: »X11 got there own soundcard right?
When you use them for the pc do you need to have a soundcard?
Not many headsets come with their own sound cards.
And even when they do, it's usually some cheap external
And no, you don't NEED a sound card, per se, but you do of course need some form of a sound processing unit, whether that be via on-board, or internal/external sound card.
